Webquest

Introduction This Webquest has been created for students in Year 7 studying English. Students are currently learning about narrative through the concept ‘heroes.’This Webquest will teach students to respond critically to various forms of texts. It will also require students to find inspiration from various forms of texts. This inspiration will them be used to create their own imaginative and original pieces.Students will be researching, reflecting and writing in this task, as well as understanding the language and structure of a narrative.

TaskA magazine has hired you to create an

imaginative narrative on an Australian hero. This is in celebration of Australia Day. The

magazine would like you to work in a pair in order for the piece to reflect another

perspective rather than just your own. For the piece you are required to put

yourself in the heroes shoes. To do so you must first research the historical figure, give

your own interpretation of the heroes mindset, and finally create an original

narrative in collaboration with your partner.

ProcessResearch Task – You must conduct research on one of the three heroes that the magazine has suggested for you. After completing the “Research Task,” through a blog you must critically analyse the texts read and express your thoughts on your research.
