Expected hours per day
•Generally work in office environments or from home, and spend a great deal of time at the computer.
• Designers employed by IT and other companies typically earn between $25,000 and $65,000 a year
• Average annual salary is somewhere between $35,000 and $50,000.
• A designer who is just starting out may make as little as $15,000 a year
• Well-established designer may make up to $100,000 a year or more.

Required High School Credits to Enter Education or Training Program
• No mandatory educational requirements for web designers• Can take anywhere from less than a year to 2 years to earn
a diploma • A bachelor’s degree in computer science takes 3 to 4 years
to complete • Designers must be able to create websites using HTML and
CSS. They should also be comfortable using • Several web design programs or tools, such as Flash,
Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and JavaScript.
