Wedding Wishes 36 By Bogusia Kennedy  Materials Required: Paper: White and Pale Green. White Stardream Paper 14cm x 19cm. 5mm Quilling Paper: Red and White. 3mm Quilling Paper: Red, White and Pale Green. 6mm White Ribbon Approx. 30cm. Tracing Paper and Pencil. Lettering: XL667U-02 and XL603U-02. Leaf Punch. Tweezers and Scissors. Quilling Tool. P.V.A. Craft Adhesive. Card Mount: SF01M-82 Stardream Silver. To Make The Card: Trace the horseshoe shape from the diagram, you can add a tiny mark at the point of each heart to help with posi- tioning them later. Transfer the horseshoe and heart marks to the white paper and cut out the horseshoe. This will be used as a base for the quilled shapes. For the hearts use 3mm paper as follows. Cut 36 x 2cm and 7 x 1.5cm strips of red. Cut 36 x 2cm and 7 x 1.5cm strips of white. Fold in half and wind each end into the centre to form the heart. The smaller ones are used around the lower inside curve where it is more of a squeeze. Make a little puddle of P.V.A. on some scrap paper, pick up a white heart with the tweezers, dip in the glue and stick to the horseshoe, this should be with the point inwards and starting at the left ‘arm’ on the top right corner, the curves of the heart should be just level with the edge of the paper horseshoe. Add a red heart to the left of this one, then add a white at a bit of an angle to get around the corner. Continue working all the way around the shape alternating the colours as you go and keeping the curves of the hearts to the edge of the paper. Use the slightly smaller hearts where necessary as you work around the curve of the horseshoe. Make 8 red and 8 white roses using full lengths of 5mm paper, see diagram on facing page. Place one end of the paper in the quilling tool and wind round for 4 or 5 turns then fold the quilling paper down at a right angle. Wind round a little further bringing the paper back up to horizontal as you do so. Fold the paper down again and repeat until the rose looks a good size, cut off any excess paper and glue the end.

Punch 18 leaves from the palegreen paper and glue one behindeach of the roses. Place two red roses at the bottom of the horseshoe one either side of centre, glue into place and gluethe extra leaves under andtowards the centre. Position theother roses up each side begin-ning with a white then a red etc.Once you have them evenlyspaced, remove each one in turn and glue into place.

Make 6 more red and 6 morewhite roses in the same way asbefore. Make 2 more each of thered and white roses but stopwhen they measure just 6 to7mm in diameter.

Punch 4 green leaves from the light green paper and glueone in each corner of the whitepearl panel placing the top leafto the corner in each case. Glue a red rose to the top left and bot-tom right corners over the leafand a white rose in theopposite two corners.Glue a pair of contrast-ing roses by each ofthese corner roses.

Cut a 3cm length ofgreen quilling paperand curve to a gentle s shape, glue the topbetween the roses in the top left corner sothe length flows downthe side. Make a mirrorimage on the top right corner. Cut a single leaffrom a punched set and glue to the bottom of oneof the small roses, repeat for the other three. Glue

these beside the flowing lengths, 2 each sideplacing a red then a white on the left cornerand a white then a red on the right.

Roll a tight peg from a 5cm length of red andone from white and glue the red one at the endof the flowing stem on the left and the white onthe right side.
