Loch Torridon is one of the most idyllic and romantic locations in the Highlands of Scotland. The Torridon is the ideal venue for a traditional Scottish house party, giving your wedding that personal touch and creating an intimate celebration for you and your guests.

Torridon Weddings

The Torridon Resort is set within a 58 acre estate at the head of a magnificent sea loch. There are three types of accommodation at the Torridon Resort; 18 luxury bedrooms, 12 rooms at The Stables and the Boat House, a luxury private two-bedroom cottage. There is also an activities centre on the resort, catering for both land and sea activities.

The Torridon hotel was built as a shooting lodge in 1887 and is part of the Pride of Britain Hotel collection and the Luxury Scotland collection. It also boasts an impressive list of awards and achievements including the Cateys 2018 Independent Hotel of the Year Award, Visit Scotland 5 gold stars and AA 5 red stars.

The 1887 restaurant is our 3 AA Rosette restaurant in The Torridon that serves produce reared on the estate and grown in the two-acre kitchen garden.

Also located in the hotel is the whisky and gin bar serving over 365 whiskies and 120 gins including The Torridon’s very own gin, Arcturus.

Bo & Muc is just a short walk from the main hotel and includes a pub serving hearty Scottish food and local ales. Located next to The Stables, Torridon Outdoors is our on site activities team that run a range of land and sea activities.

The drawing room is set amongst a stunning backdrop of mountains and still has some of the original features including the zodiac ceiling.

Our 1887 restaurant is AA three rosette, reflecting the consistent excellence of our dishes, ingredients, wine selection and service.

The restaurant is an L shaped room which seats up to 36 people.

We can organise weddings for up to 36 guests at the resort.

Weddings must be booked on an exclusive only basis for a minimum two days.

Please have a look at our website to see the different style of bedrooms. We can also provide cots or small extra beds for young children.

• Exclusive use of the hotel from 3pm on your arrival day until 11am on your day of departure including the front hall, drawing room, dining room and 18 bedrooms

• Accommodation, dinner, bed and breakfast for 36 guests in the Torridon Hotel including yourself for two days. This also includes the celebratory wedding breakfast on the day of the wedding

• Printing of menu and place names

• All table linen included

• Ivory chair covers available if required

Please note, Stables and Bo and Muc will still be open to public/residents during the weekend, but the hotel will be exclusively yours.

15:00 Your guests arrive for the weekend to start the celebrations.

19:30 Dinner is served for the happy couple and your guests. This can be an informal buffet at the hotel or a seasonal menu.

21:00 Celebrate with drinks in the whisky and gin bar or The Beinn Bar. You may wish to book a whisky and gin tasting for some members of the bridal party.

S AT U R D AY

8:00-10:00 Full Scottish breakfast is served at your leisure.

10:30 Torridon Outdoors can arrange activities for you and your guests such as archery or clay pigeon shooting on the front lawn, set against a mountain backdrop.

14:00-14:40 The happy couple say I do in an intimate ceremony in the Drawing Room, in the company of your family and friends. If the weather is nice, the wedding may also take place outside if you wish.

14:45-16:00 The drinks reception takes place. Toast to your marriage with a glass of house champagne, Moët & Chandon.

16:30 The staircase in the front hall is the perfect setting for speeches before the wedding breakfast begins

17:00 Enjoy a delicious wedding breakfast in the 1887 restaurant, prepared by our skilled kitchen team of talented chefs

19:30 The Evening reception begins

20:00 Dancing starts in the front hall to a local Ceilidh Band or DJ.

21:30 Celebrate with fireworks on the lawn. Please note that in summer months the display may not be effective as the evenings are much lighter.

22:00 The evening buffet is served, choose from bacon sandwiches to a light buffet for your guests.

Our head chef Paul Green can create a custom menu for your special day. This will be a set menu of your choice in the 1887 restaurant.

Upon booking, we invite you to sit down with the team to discuss your menu and create something unique, using local ingredients and produce. Enclosed is a sample menu to give you a feel of what we could create for you. We do require you to choose the same menu for the whole party, but we can create a special menu for those guests with any individual dietary requirements or needs. Please note that some dishes are subject to seasonality and availability.

Guests may wish to dine at our Bo & Muc restaurant on the first evening or you may also wish to consider an informal buffet style dinner on the first night.

D R I N K

It is hotel policy that all wines served must be purchased from the hotel. If you do wish to bring your own special wines, the corkage is £20.00 per bottle, and champagne £30.00 per bottle.

We can discuss your wine and champagne choice to complement your meal once you have chosen your menu.

If you book the hotel on a full exclusive basis you will be charged at the full hire for two nights. We do stipulate in our terms and conditions that you take the hotel for a minimum of 2 nights exclusive use where you can bring up to 36 guests in the hotel. If the total number of guests is lower than 36 you will still be charged for the full exclusive use.

H O W D O I G E T TO YO U ?

It is now very easy to get to Torridon from many parts of the UK. There are flights to Inverness Airport on a daily basis from London Gatwick, London Heathrow and Luton as well as Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Belfast, Dublin and Amsterdam. Inverness Airport is 1 hour 30 minutes drive from The Torridon. Once you arrive in Inverness there are a number of car hire companies as well as mini bus and coach hire. We are more than happy to assist you in organising your transport from Inverness. There is also a train daily to nearby train station Achnasheen which is a 20 minute drive from The Torridon.

No, we would require you and your guests to stay at the hotel to get married at the Hotel.

Yes, if the weather permits you can get married outside, just please let us know at the time of booking so this can be added into your day itinerary. We are not able to accommodate for a marquee on the grounds.

C A N I L A N D A H E L I C O P T E R AT T H E TO R R I D O N?

Yes, the landing area is in front of the Hotel , we work with PDG Helicopters who are based at Inverness Airport. The details are in our suppliers list.

H O W D O I B O O K?

To confirm the booking we would require a non refundable deposit of £2000 along with a copy of the signed terms and conditions. The full balance would be payable 3 months prior to the event.

W H AT A G E S D O C H I L D R E N C O U N T A S A D U LT S F O R A C C O M M O D AT I O N A N D F O O D?

Children up to the age of 12 (sleeping in an extra bed rather than a cot) sharing a room with their parents will be charged £40.00 for their accommodation, bed and breakfast. For the wedding breakfast, if the children will be sitting at the table then they will be counted in the total number of 36 people.

Add a truly Scottish feel with a traditional piper. The sound of bagpipes perfectly sets the scene for your guests during your ceremony.

E N T E R TA I N M E N T

Dance the night away with a traditional Scottish ceilidh in the front hall. We have a dance floor which we provide at no extra cost if you wish to hire a DJ also.

O U T D O O R A C T I V I T I E S

We can arrange all sorts of fun and games for your Scottish wedding. From archery on the lawn to guided walks along the lochside to clay pigeon shooting, our activities team will ensure everyone has a great time.

W E D D I N G C A R

A wedding car with style, you may wish to hire The Torridon’s Morgan as a wedding car. Priced at £350 for a full day’s hire, the Morgan will add an element of something different to your wedding photos.

F I R E W O R K D I S P L AY

We can organise a firework display for you and your guests. The display must take place no later than 10.30pm and please note that in the summer it is still light at this time so the display will not be so effective.

Celebrate with a wee dram or two with a tasting event in our whisky and gin bar, in association with Glenfiddich.
