Countdown to a Perfect WeddingBOOK YOUR DATENow that you’ve chosen Forest Hills Hotel as your Wedding venue, contact your Wedding Coordinator who will check your date and make a provisional booking for you. This can be held for 14 days, then you need to confirm in writing with a Deposit of £500.00.

BOOK ACCOMMODATION. Booking Accommodation for your guests. We strongly recommend you add up how many of your guests may require accommodation then hold an allocation of rooms at your Special rate. It is then up to your guests to call us and book their accommodation, quoting your surnames as a reference for the Special Wedding rates. The allocation will be held until 1 month prior, unless the hotel becomes full then the allocation will be reviewed.

2 MONTHS PRIOR - WEDDING DAY PLANNING We will give you a call 2 months prior to your big day to arrange a meeting to discuss all your final details. After this meeting your function sheet will be produced detailing your day from start to finish, with all your requirements and a full costing.

OUTDOOR MARRIAGE CEREMONIESYou can now have your wedding outside the hotel in a designated area within the grounds, weather permitting!  You will need to book one of our Licensed rooms to make your legal declarations and also as a plan “B” in case of bad weather.  The Hotel will make the decision on the day, dependent on the weather, if the ceremony is outside or in the licensed room.

In most respects your outdoor ceremony will be no different to the one held indoors – with all the expected elements such as an exchange of vows and rings, readings etc.  However, for legal reasons there will be minor changes to the format of an outdoor ceremony.  

In England and Wales for a marriage to be legally recognised, a short but important part of the ceremony- the Declaratory and Contracting words – Must be spoken by the couple within a licensed room.  To meet this requirement you and your chosen witnesses will be invited by the registrar to go inside to the licensed room to perform this element of the ceremony, which will only take around 10 minutes then you can re-join your guests.  Once you’ve spoken the Declaratory and Contracting Words you are legally married and are then able to sign the marriage register and receive your marriage certificate. This can take place inside the licensed room or outdoors – depending on your preference and the weather.  You may also choose to say the Declaratory and Contracting words outside if you wish.

When booking with Cheshire West and Chester’s Registration service, you will be issued with a guide and they will talk this through with you.

ARRANGING FOR A REGISTRAR TO ATTEND THE WEDDINGAs soon as couples have made provisional arrangements for a marriage to take place at approved premises, they must contact the Ceremonies Officer, Chester.  On the day of the marriage, two Registrars will attend, one to conduct the ceremony and the other to register the marriage.

Registrars can be booked up to twenty four months in advance, and should be booked as early as possible.  The marriage cannot take place without the presence of the Registrars.

THE MARRIAGE CEREMONYThe Superintendent Registrar who will be attending on the day must approve the arrangements for and the content of each marriage ceremony in advance. 

Alcoholic drinks are not allowed during the Wedding Ceremony in the licensed room or if outside, in the designated area of the grounds, for one hour before and during the ceremony.

Please note that, by law, only a civil ceremony is permitted; any music, reading words or performance, which form part of the ceremony, must not be of a religious nature. The superintendent registrar will be happy to offer advice and guidance to couples that wish to personalise or enhance their marriage ceremony.

The Bride should always be at the left side of the Bridegroom.

THE RECEIVING LINEIt is advisable to limit the receiving line to; Brides Mother, Brides Father, Grooms Mother, Grooms Father, Bride and Groom.

Guests move along the receiving line, shaking hands with each member of the wedding party in turn.

THE WEDDING BREAKFASTWhen all the guests have passed through the receiving line and made their way to the appropriate tables, the Duty Manager – Toastmaster, will request everybody to stand to receive the Bride and Groom.The Duty Manager – Toastmaster, then leads the Bride and Groom to their places at the Top Table, then requesting everyone to sit. The Meal is now served.

THE CUTTING OF THE CAKEIf you require your wedding cake to be served with your coffee it is normally cut after the main course is cleared. The Duty Manager – Toastmaster will make an announcement for the Bride and Groom to cut the cake. If however you would prefer your wedding cake to be served with the evening buffet it should be cut after the Best Mans speech.

4. Final NumbersMinimum numbers apply when booking a Wedding package. With minimum numbers for the daytime of 50 and Evening Reception of 80. All guests must be catered for for the daytime and evening reception, undercatering is not permitted.Final Numbers must be notified 10 days prior to commencement of the function. This will be the minimum number for which you will be charged. Failure to do so will incur charges on the numbers originally specified in the booking or the actual number of guests that attended whichever is the greater. Where there is no minimum number stipulated at the time of booking, numbers may drop by maximum of 10%. If the numbers drop more than 10% cancellation charges will be calculated in accordance with para 3.

5. Liability of the HotelThe hotel accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage to any property of the customer or its guests other than such as may be caused as a direct result of any negligent or fraudulent act or omission of the company.Any damage to the building or its contents caused by the customer or its guests is the responsibility of the customer. The customer agrees to pay the company the full cost of any company property which is stolen or damaged beyond repair. Where property is damaged yet repairable the customer will pay all costs incurred to rectify the damage.Should the customer wish to fix things to the walls, floors or ceiling company consent is required.

6. Payment Terms• A further 25% of the expected balance is to be

paid 6 months prior to the Wedding date, this will be based on numbers given at the initial booking.

• An invoice for the event will be submitted 2 months prior to your wedding for the total costs, which must be paid 1 month prior to the event.

• Any extra charges, for example extra people catered for on the day, must be settled before departure from the hotel.

• Any customer wishing to raise objections or queries concerning these accounts must do so within 7 days of invoice date whereupon any amount not in dispute shall be paid in accordance with the payment terms and any balance immediately upon the amount being agreed between the company and the customer.

Booking Conditions

These conditions apply to the booking of weddingsat the Forest Hills Hotel

The hotel General Manager has the authority to amend these terms and conditions at his discretion.

All bookings are considered as provisional until written confirmation and an agreed deposit is received by the Hotel from the client. Terms and Conditions are issued by the hotel. A provisional booking will be held for 14 days unless alternative arrangements have been agreed. The hotel reserves the right to release provisional bookings if the deposit has not been received. No booking is confirmed until the deposit and booking conditions acknowledgement is received.

Once the Hotel receive confirmation, an email, text, letter, fax etc where you have confirmed the date and approximate details, instructing the Hotel to hold this as a Confirmed booking, you are then agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of Hotel. A function sheet will be issued as a contract of confirmation of requirements and operating instructions to the Hotel, based on your confirmation on the original correspondence. The Future Bride and Groom, Bride & Bride, or Groom and Groom are both required to sign this and return this to the Hotel.

Once confirmed such provisions reserved on your behalf will be subject to the terms and conditions of the Hotel. In the event of cancellation both parties will be liable for any cancellation costs payable, and therefore it is advised to take out wedding insurance.

1. ConfirmationAll bookings are provisional until confirmed in writing. Provisional booking will be held for 14 days unless alternative arrangements have been agreed. The hotel reserves the right to release provisional bookings if the deposit has not been received. No booking is confirmed until the deposit and booking conditions acknowledgement is received.

2. DepositsAll bookings must be secured by a deposit of £500.00 (unless otherwise specified) which the company regrets is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

3. CancellationsIn the event of cancellation, the deposit is forfeited plus the following are the maximum charges that will apply. In all cases the percentages will be calculated on our reasonable estimate of the full anticipated turnover from the bookings- Drinks & Wine, Meals, Accommodation, Entertainment & Other Services;Within 25 - 40 weeks – 50%Within 13 - 24 weeks – 75%Within 0 - 12 weeks – 100%The hotel will endeavour to re-let any cancelled bookings. If successful, this will be reflected in the charges.

Gemma and JohnI couldn’t have wished for anything more from our

wedding venue. From the build up to the wedding day itself, the service we received from Forest Hills was second to none. We want to give a massive thank you to Kieran who was exceptional on the day. He kept us both relaxed and could not do enough for us. Kieran even stayed later

than intended and came in to let us and the photographers

know to go and get a shot of the sunset - and we are

so glad he did as the photos are amazing! We could not

recommend Forest Hills enough to future bride and

grooms. We have had so many great comments from our

guests. Thank you all so much, such amazing memories from

here to cherish forever.

Stacey and BradleyMyself and my husband had our wedding at the Forest

Hills Hotel on 26th October 2016 we had the most perfect

day. All the staff that were involved made our day, so

special from helping with the planning leading up to our day to the day we checked

out as husband and wife. We would love it if our pictures

were used in your upcoming brochure. Our photographer

was Heather Elizabeth Photography. 

Kathryn and Will Our wedding was on 29th

April, and it was fabulous. We dealt with a few lovely people over the last year, but notably Nicole, who was wonderful,

really went above and beyond to answer every little random

question I came up with. Everything went without a

hitch (or with no hitches that I noticed!!), the food was

excellent and someone even folded up the bunting for us before we collected all the decorations on the Sunday!

Had so much good feedback on the reception. Will definitely

be recommending.

Wendy and Colin Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough for a Wedding. From

the start of planning everybody we spoke to was so helpful

and friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. With

a wedding planner just an email away it sure helped my nerves as our questions were

answered . Our day was just so Perfect and ran so smoothly.

Big Thanks to everybody on the day and behind the

scenes who helped make it so so perfect, we wouldn’t have

changed a thing! Big Thanks to Bob for calming me and

keeping us informed of things happening throughout our day.

Kelly & GarryWow, well what can I say, this hotel is the bestest place to have your wedding.  I got

married there in October this year and me and my hubby couldn’t have asked for a

better team .  All the staff were absolutely fab, they made us feel really welcome and

special, couldn’t do any more for us than they did.  The guy who got us through our day, Kieran, the Duty Manger was

100% spot on with everything.  This guy was amazing so

thanks to Kieran as well, you were brill and thanks too all

the staff and people who were involved with our wedding,

especially Nicole Barton and Tracey the wedding planners at Forest Hills Hotel, Frodsham, I couldn’t fault these girls, they

were brilliant.

Kayleigh and LiamWe had our wedding in May this year and thanks to the sun coming out we were

privileged to have the first ever outdoor wedding at Forest Hills Hotel, it was beautiful from start to finish. Kieran,

the duty manager on the day, went above and beyond and

made me feel so at ease, which is exactly what I needed!

So thank you to Kieran and to all of the staff behind the scenes who worked so hard

to make our special day perfect. Forest Hills is a very special place to us as we got engaged here 11 years ago on the day we got married,

so it’s always been my dream venue and they definitely

didn’t disappoint. Our guests that stayed overnight couldn’t fault the hotel and everyone commented on the beautiful

views. So thank you Forest Hills for making our special day, the

best day!
