High drama was witnessedtoday when VigilanceDepartment sleuths searchedthe house of suspended IG-rankofficer Amitabh Thakur, who islocked in a tussle with SP chiefMulayam Singh Yadav, in a dis-proportionate assets case.

A member of the Uttar PradeshVigilance Department team wasseen darting out of the residencewith a sheaf of papers in his handsand being confronted by an angryThakur, a senior IPS officer.

Thakur wanted his documentsto be returned but the vigilancesleuth refused to do so.

“The vigilance team is con-ducting a raid at my residence asDirector Vigilance Bhanu PratapSingh is working as a SP man. I ambeing harassed as I have lodgedFIR against Mulayam SinghYadav,” Thakur told reporters out-side his Gomti Nagar house.

The Vigilance Department hadlodged an FIR against Thakur lastmonth charging him with possess-ing assets disproportionate to hisknown sources of income.(PTI)
