Vs.
2013 Results: The Outlaws swept the regular-season series against the Hounds 2-0, but the Hounds won the postseason semifinal game.
All-Time Series: The Hounds are 1-5 all-time against the Outlaws.
Last Meeting: These two teams met last week in Denver, and it was a battle until the final second ticked off the clock. The Outlaws jumped out to a 6-2 lead after one quarter, and kept a 9-6 advantage at the half. But the Hounds fought back, outscoring the Outlaws 3-1 in the third quarter – including a 2-point goal from Brett Schmidt to pull within one. Another 2-pointer midway through the fourth quarter gave
the Hounds an 11-10 lead, but a late penalty and some bad decisions on defense allowed the Outlaws to score three more goals and seal a 13-11 victory. The Outlaws outshot the Hounds (30-22), collected more groundballs (25-18) and won the faceoff battle (16-26). In addition, the Outlaws were 1-1 on the power play while the Hounds were 0-2. However, it was still one of the better offensive performances for the
Hounds this year, who had previously been averaging just 8.25 goals per game. Another marked improvement was the play of goalie Adam Ghitelman, who despite the loss registered 17 saves on 30 shots (56.7 SV%). By comparison, the Outlaws’ Jesse Schwartzman made 13 saves on 22 shots (59.1
SV%). However it was the first game this season that he has allowed multiple 2-point goals.
HOUNDS
Players To Watch
Justin Ward (A) – The rookie got involved in the offense immediately, putting up four points (1g, 3a) in
his MLL debut last week.
John Haus (M) – The sophomore player has gotten more involved on offense, and has tallied five goals in
his last three games.
Ryan Flanagan (D) – He leads the team in groundballs with 20, and has been a key contributor on the
faceoff wing.
OUTLAWS
Players To Watch
John Grant Jr. (A) – The veteran shows no signs of slowing down. He registered five points against the
Hounds last week.
Eric Law (A) – He continues to lead the Outlaws in goals (15) and points (21). After scoring nine goals
against the Hounds in the 2013 postseason, he tallied three in last week’s game.
Cameron Holding (M) – Was just acquired by the Outlaws in a trade this week, so will be interested to
see how he is used in the lineup.

NOTEWORTHY – June 7, 2014
MILESTONE MOMENTS: Justin Ward last week scored his first MLL goal in his debut against
the Outlaws. He also tallied three assists.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING: Rookies Mike Chanenchuk and Michael Ehrhardt are scheduled
to make their MLL debuts this weekend.
GOING STREAKING: Ryan Young enters Week 6 riding a 22-game streak of recording at least
one point, dating back to Aug. 11, 2012 (including the postseason).
DINO-MYTE: Matt Danowski needs just five more goals to hit the 150 mark for his career
(including the postseason). The attackman also is just eight assists away from reaching 100.
POWER OUTAGE: Special teams have not been kind to the Hounds, who at 42.86% hold the
worst penalty-kill percentage in the league. They have allowed eight goals while playing man-
down, the second most in the league. In addition, the Hounds have only scored two power-
play goals for a 15.38PP%, both of which are second-lowest in the MLL. The Outlaws have
scored five man-up goals on 10 advantages for a 50.0PP% and have the second-best penalty-
kill percentage in the league at 78.57%.
TWO FOR YOU: The Hounds are one of only two teams in the league yet to allow a 2-point
goal. Meanwhile, the team has tallied three 2-point goals thus far, which is tied with three
other teams – including the Outlaws – for the league high.
BALL SO HARD: With just 120, the Hounds have collected the fewest groundballs in the league.
They sit below the Bayhawks at 134. The Rattlers lead the league with 154, while the Outlaws
have scooped up 142.
BIRTHDAY BOY: Attackman Mike Sawyer celebrates his 25th birthday on game day.
