Teddy has ventured out from school this week.
Mrs Richardson & Mrs Hillyard took him for a walk to the local shops to
introduce him to the neighbourhood.
Teddy and Mrs Hillyard have also taken a child for a walk around the School
Grounds. This was to help the child who was having a difficult morning in school.

9.00am to 9.30am (new time) We are holding a Parent Meeting in the hall to introduce our reading scheme. Reception staff will then demonstrate model sessions in the classrooms from 9.30am to 10.00am. 9.00am to 10.00am (new time) Yr1 & Yr2 class-based workshops, with opportunities for parents to join in with some fun reading activities, alongside some of the skills children need to help them develop their comprehension and understanding when reading.
Please feel free to bring along a favourite book from home to share in class.

SAT’s Books—Yr 2
We are already into the second term of Year 2 and we have been working super
hard to get your children ready for the end of Key Stage 1 Standard Attainment Tests
(SAT’s).
Although they seem a long time away it’s never too early to start preparing. After all,
‘practise makes perfect!’
We know that you are keen to help your children at home too, so as a school we
have arranged a special discount from CGP.
You can purchase:
‘New Complete KS1 Maths & English SAT Buster Bundle – including
answers’ (for tests in 2020 and beyond)’ for £6.00, which has a retail price of
£14.00.
All Yr2 children have received a letter, with details of how to order.
Everyone who purchased the bundle last year found the books very helpful
in preparation for their child’s SAT’s.
The closing date for the return of forms is Friday 7th February.
The Sun ‘Books for Schools’
Unfortunately, we have not received enough tokens to meet the target to receive any books.
Thanks to those parents who have sent tokens in, but we are now no longer collecting them.
Please note our new Parent’s Evening dates for the Spring term. They are:-
Monday 10th February 4.30-6.30
And
Thursday 13th February 3.30-5.30.
Letters will be sent out shortly with further information and appointments.
Pre-School Parent’s Evenings will be during the week beginning 24th February, staff will
arrange appointments over the next few weeks.

Ready, Steady, Cook!
This term we are making Peppermint Creams. The
recipe is attached at the back of the newsletter if you would
like to have a go at home.
Paper-free from Summer Term
2020
We are doing our bit for the environment, and trying to reduce the amount of letters and
flyers that we send home with the children. After the Easter Holiday in April 2020 we shall be posting all our flyers and reminders on our
Schudio App only.
Please make sure you have the App on your phone or tablet to keep upto date.
Instructions on how to install the App are included at the back of the Newsletter.
Chinese New Year
To celebrate Chinese New Year (starts on 25th January 2020), we are
offering a special lunch menu on Tuesday 21st January.
The menu is attached at the back of the
Newsletter.
Watch This Space!
We are excited to announce that the children will have a visit from Olympic
Gymnast Kristian Thomas on Friday 7th February.
