THE LITURGICAL YEAR - is made up of six seasons: ADVENT, CHRISTMAS, LENT, TRIDUUM, EASTER, and ORDINARY TIME. Through the year, the mystery of Christ among us calls us into a deeper relationship with his life, death, and resurrection. His Mother and the Saints are examples of this mystery as they encountered Christ alive in their time and lives.

Dear St. Bernard Community,

We begin another year together when Christ reveals the Father to us through His Word and the Sacraments. It may be difficult to see the spiritual growth or fruit that the Holy Spirit is producing in us individually or as a community.

This first season of the new year, ADVENT, is a time then to reflect upon the lives of those in the Old Testament who patiently waited while God prepared them for the promised Messiah.

As a farmer waits for the growth of seeds, and as parents wait for the birth of a child, so we too wait for Jesus' Second Coming as God forms us with spiritual preparations for that Day. Fr. Dan
