New Congregational Hymnal
Now in Use
The 2nd Edition of Lead Me Guide Me hymnal is now in use. Please note that we are following a new procedure with the new hymnals. As you enter the church, you will be given your hymnal by a Minister of Hospitality and you are asked to return your hymnal to a Minister of Hospitality before you depart the church. No hymnals are to be left in the pews. If you have not yet donated a hymnal you may still do so by contacting a member of the Worship Commission or a Minister of Hospitality. The donation for each hymnal is $20. We are grateful to all who have supported this worthy cause.

Definiendo la Cuaresma
La Cuaresma es subir hasta el Tabor, hasta el Calvario, caminar desde el desierto hasta la Pascua,
sin mirar hacia atrás, y sin perderse, superando el esfuerzo
en la esperanza.
Marzo 8, 2015 Tercer Domingo de CUARESMA/B
Un paso más en el camino hacia la Pascua.
La primera lectura de este Domingo de Cuaresma nos presenta
la Alianza de Sinaí, después de haber considerado la Alianza
universal con Noé, el Domingo pasado y la renovada Alianza
con Abraham, padre de los creyentes. El evangelio de hoy nos
presenta los 10 LOS MANDAMIENTOS.
Los 10 Mandamientos son la continuación de una historia de
liberación. Si no fuese así podrían ser considerados como una
pesada carga. Dios se presenta como “el Señor, tu Dios, que te
saqué de Egipto, de la esclavitud”. La experiencia salvadora de
liberación está siempre en primer plano, después, en Segundo
plano vienen las exigencias morales. Los mandamientos nega-
tivos” han de servir para preservar y desarrollar la libertad con-
seguida. Vistos así, los diez mandamientos son ofertas de
vida, reglas de juego para la convivencia de personas libres.
El Misterio de la Cruz
Mirando a la carta del apóstol: el misterio de la Cruz y su
fuerza liberadora. “Nosotros predicamos a Cristo crucifica-
do”. Este núcleo central de la fe Cristiana contradice la idea de
un Dios omnipotente, fuerte. El Salvador del mundo se da a
conocer en la imágen de un hombre torturado hasta la muerte.
La manera de actuar de Dios sobrepasa todas las categorías
humanas. La fe Cristiana es la confianza de que en la debilidad
de Dios en la cruz se esconde una fuerza que no es de este
mundo, pero que si puede estar viva en este mundo en no-
sotros, en nuestra vida. Dios se ha hecho débil porque tiene
debilidad por nosotros.
La Libertad de los Hijos de Dios
Mirando el evangelio vemos la expulsión de los mercaderes del
templo. Signo de la afirmación de la lucha de Jesús contra todo
lo que se interpone en el camino del amor de Dios. En lugar de
entrar en relación con Dios en el templo, los mercaderes se
interesan por el dinero. Asi la religión se convierte en el nego-
cio y el templo en un mercado. El poder turbador del dinero
roba a los hombres su rostro y a la vida su corazón. Sus criatu-
ras no son llamadas a ser esclavas del dinero, sino a la libertad
de los hijos de Dios.
Un exámen de conciencia se impone frente a esta realidad.
