WELCOME
We are delighted to serve your family’s child care needs. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing experience for your child with plenty of opportunities for growth in spirit, mind and body.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAM The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley offers a summer
day camp program for children ages Kindergarten
through 15 years old (must be enrolled in Kindergarten
for Fall 2017) at each of our
three locations (Oneida, Rome
and New Hartford). Day Camp
runs from 6:30AM to 6:00PM
Monday thru Friday during
nine weeks of summer
vacation.
Throughout the day, our campers enjoy fun activities
such as swimming, arts & crafts, team sports & games,
nature activities, character development, songs and
more all without television, video games or screen time!
Whether at our camp for one week or an entire summer,
a YMCA day camp experience will create hands-on
memories that last a lifetime.
YMCA child care programs are non-profit programs.
Our New York State licensed programs are designed to
provide each child with a variety of positive, healthy and
interesting hands-on activities each day. Our staff are
thoroughly trained and experienced working with
children. Many of our staff have, or are working
towards degrees in education or are seeking a career in
a childcare related field. All of our staff and programs
meet New York State Office of Children and Family
Services (OCFS) requirements and regulations.
We offer summer day camp programs in the New
Hartford, Oneida and Rome areas, serving the needs of
over 300 children each summer.
CAMP Q&A WHAT ARE BEADS AND WHY ARE THEY SO IMPORTANT??
Beads, beads and more beads! One of our most
anticipated parts of summer camp is earning
beads to wear. For each activity they participate
in, campers will earn character beads. They also
earn special beads for Camper of the Day, lost a tooth or for being a special helper! Earning
beads is a BIG deal!! Campers have strong pride
for all of the beads they earn! Save up all of your
beads through the summer and spend them at
the bead store for some neat YMCA gear!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CANT BRING MY IPAD???
The YMCA Summer Day Camp is very proud of
the fact that our campers watch ZERO hours of
television, movies, computers or video games
throughout their entire summer at the YMCA! As a part of our mission, we are encouraging all of
our campers to get outdoors, explore, PLAY and
get their bodies moving!!! Healthy living is one of
the strongest driving factors behind all of our
programs and activities! Let’s work together to
get kids back outdoors and to PLAY!
