* Each classroom maintains the appropriate supervision during all hours of care for the safest and most rewarding environment for the children and staff.
PARENT COUNCIL/ CLASS REPRESENTATIVE (PTA)
• Parent participation is very important to the growth of your children. Hopkins House prides itself on actively engaging parents in the daily activities of the school.
• The Parents Council is designed as an open forum for parents to bring their ideas and input to the administration, including, but not limited to: fundraising, volunteering, and school operation.
• Parents can be elected as President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer or simply serve on a committee on the Parent Council.
POLICIES & REGULATIONSAll Hopkins House policies and regulations are designed to ensure the greatest safety and welfare of every child in the program. The rules that govern program participation are found in the:

PHYSICALS & IMMUNIZATIONSALL CHILDREN ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE PHYSICAL EXAMS AND UP-TO-DATE IMMUNIZATIONS. (VA State Requirement)
SCHOOL HOURSSCHOOL HOURS: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
• Children MUST ARRIVE by 9:00 AM*
*Arrivals after 9 AM require a doctor’s note• School Closes at 6:30 PM**
**A Late Fee applies for pickups after 6PM
UNIFORMS
• IPA is a uniform school. Students must wear uniforms each day.
TUITION• Tuition is DUE weekly, PRIOR TO SERVICE (Late Fees apply after
Monday of each week).
• PAYMENTS ACCEPTED: VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER)
• EZ-PAY SYSTEM IS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE Payments may be automatically deducted from a credit or debit card.

TUITION HELP
Tuition Assistance may be available through the OFFICE FOR CHILDREN (OFC). Families must apply to qualify.
• Families must live in Fairfax County• Families must meet certain income guidelines• Only the children must be US citizens (not parents)• Parents must be working or in an approved day
program• Families must show a need for childcare• TANF recipients automatically qualify
TRANSPORTATION
• Families are responsible for ensuring children get to and from school. However, there are many options to assist with this:
• IPA is centrally located in the heart of Herndon and is on a county bus line.
• Free transportation may be available between specific locations and IPA.
• Carpooling is encouraged and may be supported with resources.
