Welcome all to the 2020 edition of the Wish List! To say I am proud of the set of females we have in this year’s sale would be an understatement. I think this year’s catalogue is going to blow you away. From broody year-lings to fancy heifer calves…we have something for everyone. These animals are coming from the heart of some of the most prominent Gelbvieh herds in Canada. For those unable to attend, the sale will be broadcast live on DLMS with online bidding available. If you have never bid online or have questions about it- please reach out to Mark and he would be happy to walk you through it. Kirk Hurlburt is once again the consultant for this sale. Call him for an honest appraisal of the cat-tle or some advice on which animal would best fit your needs. Juniors- what a tremendous turn out we’ve had for the junior incentive draw this year! As I write this, we have nineteen kids entered to win a $1,000 sale credit to the Wish List! There are a number of heifer calves here that a junior could throw a halter on and have some fun showing. There is also the option to buy a bred and grow that Gelbvieh herd right away. I cannot wait to see what lot the incentive winner chooses this year! We are once again excited to have the bull futurity joining our event. It looks like the turn out this year is going to be bigger than it has been in years. Igenity tells me I should be keeping this one. GE-EPDs breed average or better for CED and BW, top 35% for CEM, top 25% for WW, top 20% for YW, top 15% Total Maternal, top 5% for docility and I can vouch for that as she was almost halter broke on day one. Her genetic carcass traits are incredible, top 10% yg, top 4% cw, top 3% rea, top 10% cfat. Igenity also shows a good low RFI value of 4 for feed effi-ciency to go with the growth. She comes from Boxer lineage on the paternal side and Bulldozer lineage on

the maternal side, sports a really nice head, a nice feminine makeup and a heifer that I’m truly proud to showcase at our first wishlist sale as consignors.

Holyfield did it again for us, you’ll notice Helga’s dam is also a Bulldozer cow. Igenity scored 4 stars! GE-epds show her potential as a power cow in the future but what I was most excited for was her ultra low RFI score of 2 and scores of 8/10 for ww yw and adg. EPDs show her as a higher bw heifer but calving ease scores in that 65/70 range, while sporting ww in the top 25%, yw in the top 15, tm in the top 20. Once again, carcass traits are elite, top 2% for hot carcass weight, top 10 for cfat, top 15% for REA. To complete the package, she has that nice Boxer style head, she’s bigger than our other offering, a

little more power in her design, both calves I would love to keep, but a good showcase of what we strive to produce and what you will come to expect from us in the future, a good balance of production traits and carcass ability. We may be new on the block but good cattle have been a life long passion and we hope our love for Gelb-vieh and its potential shines through.
