Ÿ Extraction v.s. non-extraction: a reasonable treatment planŸ “To extract or not to extract” is the quintessential question faced by orthodontists.
This lecture will present several consecutive cases to demonstrate the thinking process of this issue. A practical decision making table will also be provided to guide the diagnostic process. Furthermore, when extraction is clinically indicated but refused, what happens to long-term stability? How do we handle it? Practical tips will also be shared in this talk, a topic worth investigating for a lifetime.
Ÿ Hot tips for the Damon SystemŸ This lecture will feature a wide range of practical tips for Damon users, from
mechanic design to correction of open bite, deep bite, impaction and Class III. Common clinical errors and solutions will be proposed, guaranteed to be transforming your Damon experiences.
Ÿ Digital Orthodontics
Ÿ Digital technology application in Orthodontics can be divided into the diagnosis
and treatment aspects. The latest trend in terms of treatment is the adoption of digitally customized, fixed or removable appliances. This lecture will focus on the fixed appliance—Insignia System and argue its customized torque design, precise bonding position and fitted shape of arch wire can significantly reduce treatment time and enhance treatment quality. I will also share my journey of why and how to transition from Damon Q to Insignia, its digital version, in my view. “All things digital” is not in the future but a reality that any clinician who wishes to stay current has to embrace. Be a part of it.
Ÿ Hot tips for the Insignia SystemŸ This lecture will cover practical clinical tips ranging from diagnosis to treatment
planning, specifically around how to write effective Approver plans and provide clinical adjustments during the treatment. A variety of case demonstrations will also be provided to enhance in-depth understanding of the power of the Insignia System.

Over this lecture, Dr. Ellouze will show the keys to design simple and non-invasive force systems that allow the clinician to provide unbelievable results including in the most complex cases:
He will address important topics such as:Ÿ How to Extract Less, and Yet respect both the Facial Esthetic, and the ‘’perio’’Ÿ How to deal with maximum accuracy with Asymmetrical cases and achieve optimal
EstheticŸ How to Optimize the mandibular Response in Retrognathic Class II casesŸ Management of Severe class III without surgeryŸ …and more!

Current Concepts of Orthodontics: Are they evidence based?
Any new concept in any field always clashes with the opinions of experts in that field under the pretext of the lack of research evidence, which causes confusion and controversy between doctors, especially trainees. Here I like to discuss this fact and how to deal with it, shedding light on some of the modern methods of treatment in orthodontics. I will also discuss the mechanism that the practitioner should follow to see whether that method is safe or not.

The Journey of Orthodontics
Orthodontics journey throughout the years have evolved from the most basic to complex form. Later on, controversy erupted to advocate the use of extraction in treatment.
Orthodontics journey throughout the years have evolved from the most basic to complex form. During early years, the goal of orthodontic treatment is to attain ideal occlusion without teeth extraction resulting to good facial esthetics. Later on, controversy erupted to advocate the use of extraction in treatment.
At present time, advances in the field of orthodontic technology resulted in modernized bracket systems, skeletal anchorage and digital radiography allowing orthodontists to provide patients with more options and better treatment than ever before such as good occlusion and facial esthetics with less extraction of teeth.
Hence compared with early years, contemporary Orthodontics considers less extraction of teeth with more emphasis on the facial esthetics which leads in considering selection of variable torque prescription and evaluate other patient factors to individualized treatment options.
Low Force Orthodontic System is among the contemporary concept in Orthodontic materials and technique which is clinically proven to deliver remarkable advantages for the facial esthetics. This presentation will highlight the advantages of this contemporary concept of orthodontic treatment approach such as youthful appearance and antiaging facial esthetics.
