instruction in the general education classroom; the power of 2 or more is

What it is... What it is not...
Student Led Admissions, Review, Dismissal(ARD) and 504 Meetings is the GOAL!
Accommodations or Modifications:
ACCOMMODATIONS: are designed to reduce or eliminate the effects of a student’s disability, but do not reduce or change learning expectations. Students with accommodations follow grade levelTEKS and are assessed on the same curriculum materials as the rest of the students.
MODIFICATIONS: are designed for students with significant cognitive disabilities and change the learning expectations to help the student meet the IEP objectives or other alternate learning outcomes, while still following grade level TEKS. Modifications may result in implications that could adversely affect a student throughout his/her educational career.
What’s the Difference?
If it’s not written down it didn’t happen!
A belief system that values diversity and fosters a shared responsibility to help students reach their potential.
Who is the generic kid? It is every student in your classroom!
INCLUSION

You will be a change agent for many because of your relentless belief …All Can and Will Learn. You will be
the catalyst that eliminates the negatives. Because of YOU, our students will stop saying…………
“I Can’t” and will begin saying “I Can”
