Mission Statement
We, the people of Saint Margaret Mary Parish in Chino, California, welcome you to our Roman Catholic Community. We are blessed to have a variety of different ethnic communities that join together on our journey towards the fulfillment of Christ’s Kingdom. It is a parish goal to provide the sacraments to the life of our community, with the source and summit of that life being the Eucharist. We are committed to the challenge of the Gospel message: to make Jesus Christ more known and more loved.

Friday (7:00 a.m.) — Saturday (7:00 a.m.): 24-Hour Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
Teaching Moment:
What does Baptism do for us ? The first of the seven sacraments, and the “Door” which gives access to the other sacraments. Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ, who died for our sins and rose for our justification. The Baptized receives the remission of original and personal sin, begins a new life in Christ and the Holy Spirit, and is incorporated into the Church, the Body of Christ. The rite of Baptism consists in immersing the candidate in water, or pouring water on the head, while pronouncing the invocation of the Most Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway of life in the Spirit.

Dear Friends, The staff and I hope your holidays were full of blessings. And we hope you remember that, for Catholics, the holidays are not over yet. We keep celebrating the great gift of the Incarnation all though this coming week. On Christmas we celebrate that the Messiah was given to the Jews (represented by the shepherds). Today we celebrate that the Messiah was given for the gentiles (represented by the Magi). And next Sunday we recognize that the Messiah is given to the Church (represented by the baptism of Jesus and the Father’s proclamation). If at all possible, resist the temptation to take down your tree and put away your decorations. When huge blessings come, it is our Catholic tradition to relish and cherish them --- not set them aside so we can run on to the next thing. Also, this week we begin a new (experimental) tradition at St. Margaret Mary’s --- a bilingual Mass every Tuesday at 6 PM. You are warmly invited, and … we’ll see how it goes. Peace, All Good! Fr. Mike
Paz, Todo Bueno! Padre Mike

We conducted an experiment of extending our

make a difference so starting in January, we will
return to our normal office hours Monday through
Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Friday,
8:00 am to 12:00 pm. If you have an appointment
with one of the priests after office hours, be sure

St. Margaret Mary Women’s Fellowship invites you to join us this New Year in a 10-week study called
Proverbs – Learning to Live Wisely.
The Book of Proverbs teaches us how to be successful and
prosperous in our work, our dealings with family and friends, and our relationship with God. The direction and
guidance they give us is practical, concrete, reasonable and fruitful. We welcome women 18 years and older to make plans once a week to come, study and seek guidance from
the Scriptures and other Catholic Christian women and strengthen your
personal relationship with Christ.
Register now so together we may grow in wisdom! Our study begins Thursday, January 15th at 6:30 p.m. in our parish hall. There will be registration after all Masses the
weekend of January 3rd and 4th. You need not be Catholic or a member of SMM Parish to join. The registration fee is $15.00 due the first night. This includes your book and
other materials you will receive during the study. Feel free to invite friends, neighbors, or family to participate with
you! This is a great opportunity to meet new ladies and en-joy the fellowship of other Christian women.
If you have any questions or need more information please
feel free to contact Martha Ward @ (909) 598-8220

It then concludes with entertainment and exhibits from community organizations. For more information, please contact Mary Huber at 909-475-5352 or [email protected] or check out the website http://OneLifeLA.org. We are looking forward to seeing you.
