Snack•Your child should bring
a small nutritious snack
and drink everyday.
•Pack the snack in a separate bag or pocket in your child’s backpack. Due to allergies, pack PEANUT FREE snacks.
Birthday Celebrations
Contact your child’s teacher if you want tobring party favors to share with your child’s class. NO FOOD PRODUCTS PLEASE.When the entire class is invited, teachers will distribute party invitations at school.
Volunteering
• We need volunteers in the cafeteria for the first 3 weeks of school. Sign-up here today!
• A volunteer sign-up form will be sent home shortly for classroom support.
• Classroom volunteers begin in October.
Supplies
• Label all personal belongings – backpack, lunch box, coats and clothing.
• Send in a change of clothes in a labeled zip lock bag—accidents happen!
• DO NOT LABEL school supplies – scissors, glue, crayons, markers, etc.
Communication
• Every day folders - student work, notes from teachers, Kindergarten Team information and homework.
• Important school wide information, PTA news, Kindergarten Newsletter, and community notices will be sent home on Thursday.
• Information, dates and the Falcon News will be posted on the PLES Website: www.ples.hcpss.org or request a paper copy to be sent home.
We value regular home/school communication
Communication Cont.
• To receive messages and alerts from PLES and/or HCPSS Central Office
• HCPSS News- www.hcpss.org
• Parent Conferences in November and February or upon request
The First Week!
• Mon. & Tues. - All Kindergarten students meet in the Cafeteria
• Wed-Thurs-Fri Kindergarteners walk to classes, PLES staff will assist with this transition.
• Discuss lunch options - send your child with a lunch or money ($2.75) to buy a school lunch (includes milk).
• Milk alone is 50 cents.
• Snack - decide with your child the best place in the backpack for the snack
• We’re looking forward to a GREAT year!
Transportation
• A transportation tag is in your child’s folder. Please verify with your child’s teacher that the dismissal information is correct before you leave today.
• It is important to follow your child’s transportation procedure on the first day of school.
• We will always follow your child’s normal transportation routine unless we have a note specifying a change.
