AVID – Helping Open the Doors

• What is AVID?– A support class that helps “academically average”,

MOTIVATED students develop the necessary work ethic, organization, and time management, test taking, critical thinking & study skills, to prepare for further education in a college or university.

– It helps those who WANT to go to college, but aren’t quite sure how to get there, build their road to higher education.

• World Language: Is not a graduation requirement, but is a fun, challenging course! It is recommended you have at least a 3.0 gpa and are ready for Algebra to enroll in a language as a freshman. Choose only 1 World Language course on your sheet.

• Turn in the registration packet & AVID app. to your teacher by Friday, March 18th.

• We’ll be back March 22 - 24 in computer labs. You will input your requests then. Students who don’t have their registration sheet turned in won’t get into the lab on Day 1!

• A letter will be sent to you in late August with information next year and an invitation to attend the freshman orientation in September.
