All About MeMy background
I grew up in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.I graduated from Lebanon Valley College
with a Bachelor’s of Science degree.I graduated from George Mason University
with my Master’s degree in Integrating Technology in the Classroom
My experienceThis is my eighth year at Rolling Ridge and
in Loudoun County.Previously taught 2nd grade in Parksley, VA

Homework
I will assign about 20-30 minutes of homework each night.
Students will write their homework in their agendas – Parents must sign agendas each night.
Homework may include:SpellingMathReadingScience/Social Studies****White Thursday Folders – These will go
home on Thursday and contain graded papers and other handouts throughout the week.***

HereYour child will bring home an agenda,
spelling notebook, Reading Log, and homework papers
You should check their agendas and sign them each night – you may write notes in the agenda for me because I will be checking them everyday.

that comes home each nightStudents will glue in their homework for
the each day on MondaySpelling homework will change each
quarter and is posted on the website

Reading LogStudents will have a reading log for each
monthThey have a number of books at the
bottom as a goal, which increases during the year.
Students need to write about their favorite book on the back of the log
TardinessSchool starts at 7:50 A.M. If you aren’t in the building by the time
the third bell rings, please check in at the school office before coming to class.
If you are eating breakfast you must leave at 7:45, when the second bell rings so you are in the classroom by 7:50

School starts at 7:50 and we do not have lunch until 11:25.
Students may bring a small snack to school for the morning. We do not have a set time for snack so the students will be eating while they are doing independent work.
Please do not send snacks that need to be refrigerated or require utensils.
Some healthy snack ideas:*Apple *Pear *Baggie of grapes*Baggie of pretzels *crackers
Birthday TreatsPlease do not send balloons, invitations to
parties or sweet treats as they will not be distributed in school.
You may send pencils, stickers, school supplies, recess equipment, a board game or card game for the class to share for a birthday treat.
Thania is another line of communication between teachers and parents. She is located in the office and can you help with a variety of needs including translating or helping to understand papers that go home.
