joining our Catholic faith? There are people in Breese, perhaps in your own neighborhood, who are not
full members in a Church and are searching for a deeper
experience with God. Perhaps you might know someone who would welcome an invitation to find out what the
Catholic Church is all about. Maybe someone in your family, a co-worker or a friend. The RCIA, Rite of Chris-
tian Initiation of Adults, is a process which guides and
prepares people who want to join the Catholic faith community. If you know someone who might welcome a
personal invitation to learn more about becoming a Catholic, call Fr. Pat or Deacon Linus at 526-7746.
Classes will begin the end of September. You may be only one person in the world, but you
may also be the world to one person.
RESPECT LIFE CORNER
Each of us is a masterpiece of God’s creation – “Even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn
and the poor, are masterpieces of God’s creation, made in his own image, destined to live forever, and deserving of the ut-
most reverence and respect.” (Pope Francis’ Day for Life
Greeting) Learn, Act, Connect, Pray: Imagine yourself paus-ing in front of a design of great beauty. Your soul quiets and
is filled with wonder and awe. If art, created by humans, can evoke such a response within us, how much more is the same
wonder, reverence and respect due to each person we en-counter, who was handcrafted by the very God who spoke the
world into being? Pray for the ability to see each person as
God’s work of art.
Where is God calling you? Let the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, lead you toward deeper
contemplative listening during a free weekend retreat for sin-
gle, Catholic women ages 18-42. The retreat takes place Nov. 18-20, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. During the retreat, you
can explore where God is calling you, ask any questions you have about vocation, get an inside look at life as a Sister of
Providence, get to know Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and more. To learn more, contact Sister Editha Ben at 812-230-
4771 or email [email protected].
