Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus.

I received a letter from Cardinal DiNardo that our vicar, Father Richard,

will soon be moving to new parish: St. Helen in Pearland. His new Paro-

chial Vicar assignment begins on July 1, 2016.

I thank God for Fr. Richard. To: Father Richard. Thank you. God Speed!!

Let us pray for Father Richard. Pray for our new priest who will come to

STM (I hope to get a new one soon). Pray for me too. Please join us after

all masses in the Servant Hall for Donuts and coffee on Sunday June 26, 2016 to Thank and wish Fr. Richard all in new assign-

ment.

Changing is constantly a part of our lives. It is not always easy. It is not always nice; and then sometimes it is not great. Here I

am reminded by the image of a sojourner, who is constantly on the move. (Next Sunday Gospel, Luke 9:51-62 we will hear that

Jesus expects us to leave everything to follow him.) As Christians, we are called to leave behind what is familiar and entering

into a new way of life, a new perspective on the gospel.

This Sunday, I want to wish all fathers a very “HAPPY & BLESSED FATHER’S DAY”. Let the Church bless our fathers

with this prayer:

“God our Father, in your wisdom and love you made all things.

Bless these men, that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers. Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.

Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen. “

Cambiando constantemente es parte de nuestras vidas. No siempre es fácil. No siempre es agradable; y a veces no es tan estupendo. Esto me

recuerda la imagen de un peregrino, que está constantemente en movimiento. (El próximo domingo en el Evangelio, Lucas 9:51-62 escu-

charemos que Jesús espera que dejemos todo para seguirlo.) Como cristianos, estamos llamados a dejar atrás lo que es familiar y entrar en una

nueva forma de vida, una nueva perspectiva sobre el Evangelio.

Este domingo, quiero desear a todos los padres un muy "FELIZ Y BENDECIDO DIA DEL PADRE". Que la Iglesia bendiga a nuestros pa-

dres con esta oración:

Thank you St. Thomas More for all of your support for my Eagle Scout Project. My Eagle Scout project is to renovate the garden area at Loaves and Fishes by refurbishing the wooden picnic tables that the homeless use every day when lunch is served. Your generosity bought the materials neces-sary to complete the project. Your generosity also bought a freezer to help with food storage. Together, we raised thousands of needed dollars for Loaves and Fishes. Loaves and Fishes couldn’t believe how much we raised for them, and they were ecstatic and thanked God for the support from the many generous and compassionate people of St. Thomas More. Together, we have made a lasting, positive impact on the lives of countless homeless people, and have also helped the fantastic organization that has already helped so many, Loaves and Fishes. Confirmation at St.Thomas More is a two year program. Students currently receiving Catholic high

school religious education fulfill the Confirmation Year 1 requirements according to Archdiocesan

regulations and can begin Confirmation Year 2 as sophomores. If a student is in public school or non-Catholic private school grades 9

through 11, the student must register for Confirmation Year 1.

Preparation: Confirmation Year 1 can be begun as early as freshman year through junior year of High School. Confirmation Year 2 can be

completed as early as sophomore year through senior year of High School.If you are a High School student and you have not received Bap-
