Professional Predictors• A prediction of what your child will get in the final
GCSE exams.
Differentiated, fine level grading
• B1 = secure B
• B2 = likely to achieve a B
• B3 = as likely to achieve a C as a B
• We are aware that the predictions for students are
likely to fluctuate over time – they will be updated
twice termly.
• Students who do not achieve a C grade in
English and/or Maths are required to keep
retaking it
• There is only one way to guarantee success –
hard work
• For a student to be successful it requires both
them and their parents to make sacrifices

Key Dates• Monday 13th October – Work experience forms to be
returned. (available to collect on the way out)
• Monday 20th October – English Literature Mock Controlled
Assessment begins.
• Monday 10th November – English Literature Controlled
Assessment begins.
• Thursday 29th January – Report sent home.
• Monday 9th February – Year 10 Progress Review Evening.
• Monday 9th - Friday 13th March – Work experience.
• Monday 11th May – Wednesday 24th June – GCSE exams.
• Monday 8th June – Summer exams.
How can you help your child to be successful
• Communication

Work Experience reminders
• One week from the 9th-13th March.
• Employers need to complete and return the
form to you and then be brought into school.
• Forms on our website (Parent letters) or
collect on the way out.
• The deadline is the 13th October .

Curriculum Enrichment
• We aim to give every child the opportunity to explore other areas of interest within education
• This can be through residential experiences both in the UK and abroad
• Day trips to places such as Tree Runners & Snow Dome for the more adventurous
• West End theatres, art galleries and museums
• Or through workshops / planned activities within School
What do we ask of you?

• Fill out the appropriate forms by the deadlines
• Final payments will be required at the very
latest by Friday 27th March 2015

It’s good for your child
Research shows that children whose parents
are involved in their school achieve higher
grades and have fewer disciplinary problems
at school. When parents get plugged in at
school, their children do better!
