The Russian Food Forum is the leading platform for dialogue between the experts representing the food industry, professionals from individual sectors, and representatives of the ministries, agencies and international organizations. The Forum is broken down into sectors, such as Confectionary and Fruit and Vegetables. For the first time in 2012, a Citrus conference took place, which focused on how to introduce products into the Russian market, the level of market awareness, and price and volume movements.

The Retail Centre

The Retail Centre bought together 55 INTERNATIONAL AND RUSSIAN COMPANIES who held direct negotiations between the representatives of retail chains and manufacturers and suppliers of products in the food category.

Over 8 hours, according to their individual schedule, companies met with representatives of retailers. In total 780 meetings, 2.5 times more than in 2011, were held on supplying products to major stores in Russia.Retailers at the 2012 centre included:

Viktoria, The TZS Federal Procurement Union, 4 Chaya, Karavan, URS Trading House, Avoska, Magnit, Lama, Metro Cash&Carry, Karavay, and others.

The Retail Centre also comprises of Training master-classes and seminars also take place.

The Product of the Year

The awards ceremony of the Product of the Year 2012 tasting contest took place on 20September 2012.

The Central Tasting Commission of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture awarded 9 grand prix prizes, 105 gold, 66 silver and 35 bronze medals

The companies are entitled to use the medal logo on the labeling of the winning product.

All the nominees in the Product of the Year contest received gift certificates.

New Product Showcase

Following online voting by visitors to the WorldFood Moscow website, the Best New Product of 2012 prize has been awarded to Svali Green Line ice cream.

In total, the New Product Showcase competition presented ten new products from exhibitors at WorldFood Moscow 2012.
