What support do you want? (1)

• NADO News Article Spring 2004 outlined the following needs from the membership:(Summary of responses)

– Training to cover the various roles we do, e.g. support for students/management/budgetary

– Develop an SLA to cover post-16 institutions/LEAs over the DSA process

– Development of national guidance for post-16 institutions on the role of Disability Services

What support do you want? (2)

• NADO News Article Spring 2004 outlined the following needs from the membership:(Summary of responses)

– Recognition of Disability Practitioners as equivalent to Careers Advisers/Counsellors etc.

– Development of a recognised qualification– Support for embedding disability issues into

the curriculum– Support for developing an inclusive

environment for disabled students

Role of NADP Practitioner (1)

• First NADO Technical Briefing (2001)

– Focus on Disability Officers in HE– 8 recommendations covering areas such as the

development of networks to reduce isolation

• We need to update it to reflect the changes within the sector
