Feedback

• I have conducted a questionnaire which I handed out to my target in order to receive feedback on my music video. I then retrieved the feedback from my audience and analysed my findings. I had been given positive and negative aspects, which could be areas to improve on in the next production and positives which show my understanding of the topic that can be held onto.

In the next few slides I have categorised my findings and placed graphs to show the percentages as well as audience comments. This will show the effectiveness of my audience feedback to see if my goals were achieved.

1 – Have you ever heard of The Sonixx?

75% of my audience had said no but the other 25% haven’t listened to their music but came across The Sonixx

• “Never heard of them ever in my life”

• “When I was looking at some producers I have came across them before, never really gave it a thought”

• “Not heard a name like that anywhere”

What were you expecting from the music video?

“That it would relate to dancing maybe?”

“Clubbing”

“A lot of hectic camerawork movements”

“Glow sticks with flashing lights”

What did you find most appealed to you in the video?

• “The main character, he’s a figure that can be related to because of the similarities. Same age and social group”

• “I found the ending great! It becomes really chilled”

• “The strange narrative is surely one to be remembered”

Did you spot any negatives with the music video?

• “Not really, little things like, a clip or a shot of the building having an extra few seconds being too long I’d say”

• “You could have used more strobe lighting effects, being a dubstep video the chorus is the main bit to go mental and the mise en scene usually creates that atmosphere”

• “Not really, I thought it went well with the narrative but more urban shots could have been used, didn’t expect the hybrid between the forest and city centre”

Were the transitions and effects used appropriately

• “Yeah, they were. One in particular that I enjoyed was the changing from location to location but in the same scene.”

• All of my audience was agreed upon the fact that the transitions and effects were used appropriately

If I was to create a music video from scratch what advice could you have

given me ?

• “Conduct an in-depth audience feedback process, just to have an absolute clear image on how it could be made perfect”

• “Analyse all the technical features and have an innovative design to make yours stand out (research)”

• “Use props effectively to make conventions to the viewer obvious.”

Overall Feedback

• After gaining my results I have come to realise that my audience feedback has been the most useful technique in understanding what parts I went wrong, how it could have been changed and what errors may have been stumbled across. This will help me improve overall quality, and can be used for future references. It is also a good opportunity to be able to understand what is expected, basically telling you what to include from the specific target audience, making sure you’re meeting their requirements.
