Dr. Adeeb Al Afeefi Director of the National Program for SMEs, and projects the operation arm of the UAE small and medium council

Dr. Adeeb Al Afeefi is the Director of the National Program for SMEs and projects the operation arm of the

UAE small and medium council chaired by H.E. Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori Minister of Economy.

In 2008-2018, Dr. Adeeb Al Afeefi worked as the Director, Foreign Trade & Export Support at the Department

of economic Development- Abu Dhabi (DED). During this period, he has supervised the development of the

Emirate’s export support services to assist companies develop their export capabilities.

His role was supervising the implementation of the Emirate’s export agency strategy, this expanded the ability

of the government to provide export development support to Abu Dhabi operating companies. He was a

member of Abu Dhabi Free Trade agreements committee working on issues affecting Abu Dhabi’s

international trade.

During his service to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, he has worked as an economic research and international

business executive and involved with the development of the Abu Dhabi 2000-2020 Strategic Plan with the

United Nations Development Program.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from UAE University and Master Degree in economic development from Bradford University in UK and completed his PhD in political economy from Belfast University in Ireland.
