Basic Packing for Your Class

You have EVERYTHING you need to start holding parties right in your Starter Kit. Your Starter Kit Tote Bag is your “office-on-the-go”. I carry mine EVERYWHERE. I like to put all my party supplies/products in a separate rolling crate so it’s not so heavy. What to carry in your Tote Bag: • Money Bag: sales tickets, calculator, pen, change. Most people don’t use cash so normally

$20 in change is plenty.

• Swag Bags: I like to have these not only for parties, but also for meeting new people. Example: Color Card, Applicators (eyeshadow & cotton ball for blush), Business Card, candy.

• Hostess Packets: Print the Hostess Packet from the RESOURCE page on melissamays.com and add a Look Book. (10-20 Packets put together at all times to keep in your car, 2-3 in Starter Kit bag)

• Date Book: or your phone, use only one for your ENTIRE LIFE, highlight your available appt time slots ahead of time.

• Small Purse or cross body: Pull that out and take with you when you’re running errands.

• Emergency Bag: I like to carry one pocket of my personal roll-up bag with emergency items like aspirin, bandaids, eye drops, deodorant, breath mints, etc. Anything you have ever bought in an “emergency”.

• Makeup Bag: For your personal products needed for touch-ups.

What goes in your Rolling Crate:

• Makeover supplies: (all of this comes in your kit!) Facial cloths, color cards, mascara wands, sponge tip eye applicators, skin care, eye makeup remover and CC Creams.

• Extras:

• Wash cloths (they remove the product so much better & once you buy them you have them), hair clips, ink pens, cotton pads for removing eye makeup, cotton balls for applying cheek color, roll of double tickets. For doing the door prize games.

Rolling Crate

You can find these online or at Office Depot for around $25. Put all your other supplies in this crate. Pack table cloth on top since it’s the first thing on the

table. Set Starter Kit bag on top and roll in to appointments! Stream-line your packing and your job looks easy! You can even use 31 tote for your FUN table

top display.

Roll Up Bag (fill with demo products in order of how you use them)

• Pocket 1: Satin Hands Set, Mint Bliss, Indulge Soothing Eye Gel

• Pocket 2: Cleansers. Use the 3D that comes in your kit. Eventually I suggest having all the Cleansers available for people to try.

• Pocket 3: Moisturizers. Same as above. Start with 3D then add the rest as you build your inventory.

• Pocket 4: Eye Creams, Micro-Dermabrasion, Satin Lips, Deep Wrinkle Filler, Serum C, Repair Peel, Tone Correcting Serum

Palette: If you choose to start doing makeovers (prom, bridal, etc) here are some of my best selling colors:

Highlight Colors: Crystalline, Candlelight, Blossom Crease Colors: Hazelnut, Cinnabar, Dusty Rose, Soft Heather.

Brush Set

Hostess only! Include Liquid & Mineral Foundation Brush, Concealer/Cream Eye Color Brush. Cleaning the Brushes before putting them back in the pouch

helps to keep the case looking nice.

GLAMOUR ORGANIZER (OPTIONAL..you can earn this by doing your POWER START CHALLENGE)

Brush Cleaner, Palettes, Lip Gloss (sug. Fancy Nancy, Shock Tart or Café Au Lait), CC Cream all 5 colors, Foundation Primer, Oil

Matttifier, Transluscent Powder, Mineral Powder Foundation Ivory 1 & 2, Beige 1 & .5, Concealers (Light and Deep Ivory, Light

Beige...or your preferred shades), Under Eye Corrector, Lip & Eye Liner Samples or Gel Eye Liner. You can store your CC Creams in

Swag Bags:

We make up 50-100 at a time. Swag Bag can include Color Card, Cotton Ball to apply cheek color, eye applicator, your business

card, and a piece of candy. Pack these in a mesh bag. You can find super cute pink ones really cheap on Amazon. You could put these together for your guests that RSVP and

SETTING THE TABLE

• I like to use a black table cloth. You can find great deals on Amazon cheaper than MK Connections.

• You can use a small mirror or decorative tray to place products on in the center. This creates a high-end dept store or “boutique” look. Set the Eye Makeup Remover, and Cotton pads in a decorative container in the center of the table or one on each end of the table. I also like to have Q-tips in the container for fixing boo boo’s.

• Place small spray bottles at each end of the table for misting the face before Cleanser. I use empty Finishing Spray bottle with a “water” label on it that I fill with Distilled Water.

• Placemats. You have some set sheets in your kit that can be used as a placemat if you laminate them first. They are not waterproof so if someone places a wet washcloth on them, they’ll be ruined.

• Set Sheets. I have a custom set sheet called the Build a Bag on my website that has additional sets that are not on the company version. You can print them from my website and laminate so you can use them over and over. You can also find some cute placemats at Dollar Tree.

• Ink Pens can be turned into a centerpiece by attaching flowers or feathers. Florist or electricians tape works great to wrap around the stem and pen! Put in a mug, vase, or flower pot for a nice presentation.

• Pink tray inserts. They show the order of products used and really make the trays pop.

• Roll Up Bag with a nice bow around the handle. Try to keep your Roll-up clean. Remember, the EYE buys! Occasionally you need a new one. You can donate your old ones or use it as a prize. Most people don’t mind if it’s gently used!

• Hostess gift at her tray to signify her spot at the table. I like to use Travel Size Eye Makeup Removers $2.50 on Sec 2.

• Brush Collection for the Hostess to use. Clean these with our Brush Cleaner before & after every appointment. Keep case clean too or keep brushes in a pretty cup for display.

• Set the Pro or Perfect Palette with colors the Hostess makeover at her spot (if you have them). I also like to let her use the Skinvigorate Brush unless I’m doing her makeover before the party. In that case, I draw a ticket to let one lucky guest use it.

• Have hair clips at each place setting.

• Washcloths. Get them wet, place in a bowl, then have Hostess or helper micro them if one’s available. I prefer real washcloths over the ones in your kit. They remove the cleanser better! I use the ones from the kit to clean my Brushes.

• “1-on-1 Office”. Set this up when you arrive. Starter Kit, inventory, away from table for Individual Consultations. If you have inventory I suggest bringing it in (neatly in inventory cases or totes) to save time putting orders together. You could also bring a helper to run out and put orders together for you. Definitely bring it in if the weather is unfavorable! I’ve even backed my car into a Hostess’s garage before if it’s pouring down rain so I can carry my stuff in without getting soaked!

• For guests that RSVP’d, place their SWAG BAG in front of their mirror along with their Profile Card with their name on it.

PRE-PARTY PAMPERING

Eventually you may want to add these extra products to your pre-party pampering. In the beginning just demo Satin Hands which comes in your Starter Kit.

Indulge Soothing Eye Gel Lightly pat under eyes using your ring finger which is the weakest finger on your hand and applies least amount of pressure. I like keeping it in the fridge to apply first thing in the morning. It has cucumber, chamomile, and witch hazel extracts which help with hydrate and de-puff the eye area.

Satin Lips Mask You can’t moisturize dead skin. That’s working it in a circular motion.

Satin Lips Balm Remove Lip Scrub with a cotton pad with Eye Makeup Remover or wet paper towel/wash cloth. Now apply Lip Balm.
