5.4% Salary Cut is needed to meet District’s Budget Goals for 2010-2011

The District and UACT have determined that 5.4% is the equivalent to 10 Furlough Days

UACT agrees with “No work / No Pay” as opposed to “Working for Less”

Page 2: What the District is proposing……

It all boils down to how many days per year you work…..

40,000 X 5.4% = $2,160 (To be equalized over 12 months)It was proposed that this amount is to be taken in the form of 10 Furlough Days. 5 School days and 3 not student days

That doesn’t work for Classified!

Different work years (number of days)Different work calendars

Page 3: What the District is proposing……

40,000.00 (Annual Salary)

261 Work Days (12 Month

Employee)

40,000.00 (Annual Salary)

238 Work Days (11 Month Employee)

40,000.00 (Annual Salary)

218 Work Days (10 Month Employee)

40,000 ÷ 261 = 153.26 (per day)

40,000 ÷ 238 = 168.06 (per day)

40,000 ÷ 218 = 183.49 (per day)

153.26 X 10 days = 1532.60

168.06 x 10 days = 1680.60

183.49 x 10 days = 1834.90

40,000 x 5.4% = 2160 per year

40,000 x 5.4% = 2160 per year

40,000 x 5.4% = 2160 per year

14 Days NOT 10 Days 12 Days NOT 10 Days

11 Days NOT 10 Days
