Design Philosophy

Mono Tube DesignThe AST 5000 series and the MOTON series are mono tube in their design. The mono tube design is essential for performance. The oil and nitrogen are separated by a floating piston, and allows the use of a larger pis-ton, increasing the damper performance and sensiti-vity felt by the driver, all this added together produ-ces more grip, gives more control and driver feedback from your vehicle. Piston SizeAST dampers use a combination of 46mm and 40mm pistons, depending on application. The advantage of a larger piston is more oil flow, a greater sensitivity to decrease damper movements, a better adjustment range and increased lateral strength of a MacPherson strut. PressurizationAll AST and MOTON shocks are nitrogen gas pres-surized, the nitrogen gas and shock fluid is separa-ted by a floating piston internally, the floating piston is sealed by a Teflon strip and o-ring to keep friction low and moves when the shaft displaces the fluid, the gas pressure eliminates oil cavitation around the pis-ton faces caused by high speed movements, ultimate performance is consistent as a result. External reservoirThe AST external reservoir provides a platform to ex-tend the range of adjustment, when installed, it allows separate adjustment of compression and rebound damping forces. It allows a larger capacity of fluid and nitrogen gas, to further add to the elimination of overheating and cavitation. It is available in a piggy back mounting and remotely by a rotational hose.

AST 5100 SERIES SUSPENSION

The 5100 Series shock absorbers utilize inverted / upside down technology. The inverted design is track proven technology and produces an extremely strong damper, providing better suspension geometry under heavy lateral and braking loads as seen in a road and track environment. The 5100 Series shock absorbers give your car a better performance than the standard twin tube design. The 5100 Series suspension let’s you adjust rebound with one adjuster. The adjust platform allows you to adjust the ride height of your car. AST suspension shock bodies are specially designed to keep maximum stroke, even with a lower ride height.

What is a rebound adjustment?

Rebound controls the rate of extension of your shock absorber, By changing the rebound you can directly change the characteristics of the vehicle.

AST Suspension Top mounts It is not always possible to adjust camber of a racing car per-fectly, AST adjustable top mounts brings a change into this. With 4 bolts you can simply adjust the camber of the car. AST uses the same materials and bearings as they use in the aviation industry. That is the reason that the top mounts are almost free of maintenance. AST guarantees a good quality product.

AST 5200 SERIES SUSPENSION

The 5200 Series are 2-way adjustable shock absorbers which are based upon competition 3-way adjustable shock absorbers. The 5200 shock absorbers are adjustable in compression and rebound. The design of the compression adjuster is an evolution of the compression adjuster we provided for the American Grand-Am series for the last few years. The 5200 shock absorbers were designed to achieve a quick and easy set up, allowing separate adjustment of compression and rebound without any interference in both adjustments. The dampers have both 12 positions for compression and rebound adjustment. The rebound system has a unique one-way valve to eliminate all interference of rebound adjustment on the compression side. In the 5200 Series AST uses an external canister. Throughout testing and competitions, the 5200 has been praised for its performance and capabilities, surpassing other major, brands and setting a new standard of 2 way damper. Its no surprise that the 5200 is fast becoming a favourite damper amongst professional teams and track day enthusiasts world wide.

AST 5300 SERIES SUSPENSION

For the best performance on the track, AST Suspension designed the Competition 3-way adjustable series. The 5300 Series shock absorbers are rebound adjustable in 12 positions on the strut.The high speed compression is adjustable in 12 positions and the low speed compression is adjustable in 14 positions. Both compression adjustments are made using an external canister. The rebound damping is adjus-table in 12 positions thru an adjuster on the end of the piston rod. All adjusters work completely independent without any interference of both compression and rebound adjustment. The rebound system has a unique one-way valve to eliminate all interference of rebound adjustment on the compression side.Many years of technical experience and testing has been refined, fettled and brought together to create a perfect balance between the choice of springs and the corresponding damping characteristics. This makes it a versatile product for every customer. The 5300 series shock absorbers are the best solution for every race team. Once installed the shock absorbers are easy to setup, highly reliable and require low maintenance during the season because of the high grade of materials used. AST 2000 SERIES SUSPENSION

With the 2000 series AST wants to offer a product for a different type of customer. This series is specially setup for tuners and show cars. The performance is up to the AST specifications as far as this is possible for a twin tube system. They are equipped with a fixed damping rate. By doing this we were able to design the shock for a different market.With the development we really looked at the 4100 series shimstack in order to match these setups. The shocks offer a minimum lowering of 30mm. We have formed springs for most applications, this results in a perfect fitment without need for special spring platforms. This also keeps the noise down to a minimum and makes fitment with OEM top mounts very easy. Our adjustable platforms are anodized in the well known orange AST color. The 2000 series offers:- Twin tube system- Lowering from minimal 30mm up to 60mm- Formed springs for most applications- 2 years warranty

AST Air Jack and Safety Stands

During a pit-stop every second counts. The time taken to jack up your car could mean the difference between first and second place. The air jacks are made from the same material as used for AST’s shock absorbers. They are available in 55mm diameter, and can be used for different competition cars. And with our AST Safety Stands you create the optimum benefit of Air jacks.

Discover our range of AST Lowering Springs

These springs are made of chrome – silicium material. After winding the springs, the material is heated in order to relax the metal. The springs are heated from 300 to 460 degrees Celsius depending on the spring thickness. Then the springs are sandblasted (shot peening) and a special coating is applied. We offer lifetime warranty on all AST Lowering Springs.

MOTON 2-WAY SPORT SUSPENSION

The 2-way Sport line is designed for the serious club racer and high performance street driver. This ultimate suspension system is by far the finest quality and best handling suspension system on the market today.

Featuring remote reservoirs for superior fluid temperature control, quick release hydraulic lines (on most models) for easy installation, separate compression and rebound damper valving ad-justment and height adjustable spring perches, this kit is beyond the more common coil-over systems on the market. If your driving can benefit for the ultimate in suspension tuning, then this is the kit for you.

SpecificationsThe Moton Sport damper features 15 positions of bump adjustment on the remote reservoir and 15 positions of rebound on top of the piston rod. Each adjustment done to the damper is very noticeable to the driver. Our Moton Sport dampers are designed to be uncomplica-ted, easy to use and to deliver the absolute best performance. The Sport dampers perform really well at low speed as well as high speed velocities which gives you total control regar-dless of the conditions. The reservoir is connected by a high pressure hose and is equipped with swivel banjo’s for easy installation of the canisters in the car regardless of the positi-on. The damper bodies are produced from the highest quality steel or aluminium. The shaft are induction hardened and chrome plated. The canister pressure can be varied between 6 - 18 bar (100 - 300 psi) to help support the car in high speed cornering with soft springs.

The 3-Way adjustable Moton damper features 15 positions of high speed bump, 6 positions low speed bump and 15 positions of rebound adjustment. MOTON 4-WAY SPORT SUSPENSION PRO

The 4-Way adjustable Motorsport damper has been developed in conjunction with many professional racing teams all over the World. After winning the FIA European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) in 2004 with our Triple adjustable damper, we designed and developed this unique 4-Way damper with Andy Priaulx’s Team in preparation of the 2005 FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). The rest is history and the 2005, 2006 and 2007 FIA WTCC title was clinched by Andy Priaulx running the Moton 4-Way damper system.

SpecificationsThe 4-Way adjustable Motorsport damper is available as a McPherson Strut in either Alumi-nium or Steel or as a Aluminium Coil-over damper. It can be custom built to your specifica-tions. The Moton 4-Way damper features separate low- and high speed bump and rebound control. The 2 rebound adjusters are located on top of the piston rod and adjust completely independably from each other. Both low- and high speed rebound do have a adjustment range of 20 clicks each. The 2 bump adjusters are located on top of the reservoir, the low speed bump can be adjusted into 6 different settings by turning the small knob on top of the reservoir. The high speed bump can be adjusted into 15 different settings by turning the large knob on top of the reservoir.

The 4-Way damper is featuring a unique double piston design. The primary large main piston does have a double non preloaded valve stack on it for bump and rebound control and is de-signed for quick response during the smallest movement of the piston. The secondary piston is designed with the use of a unique blow off valve system for high speed rebound control. The low speed rebound is controlled by adjusting an internal needle valve.
