White River Work Camp “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:17

This last week we took a small group of kids (who were already out of school) to the White River Youth Camp for “Work Camp”. I am amazed every year to see kids working in temperatures over 100 degrees without complaining. In fact, I witnessed the opposite – whenever they finished a task,

they would quickly ask if there was anything else they could do. When I asked them why they worked so hard, they said it was because they love camp. As Christians, we should make sure we are such diligent and hard workers – because we love the Lord.

In Him,

Luke

Guten Morgen!

This last week was a whirlwind of activity. We made visits in Dresden, Chemnitz and Leipzig. It was clear in the beginning we would never have enough time to visit everyone we wanted to, so one of the members told Pam she should celebrate her birthday with coffee and cake on Wednesday. This she did, with some 30 people showing up to visit with her. It was a good time to touch bases with many old

friends and Christian brothers and sisters.

Saturday afternoon I took part in a regional meeting for E.T.M., a leadership training program for men and women in German speaking churches. A couple of our Chemnitz folks were taking part, so we skyped with two more in Bremen. The participants presented their work in the areas of prayer, personality differences and teamwork in the church, as well as time management. It was a great fellowship and an encouraging time. The program is 20 years old, started by Jim Springer. I took over when Jim passed away and Stephan Kallus took over when we returned to the USA in 2016. To date, nearly 200 church members have taken the foundation course, as well as dozens of advanced training courses. The courses are designed to bring us closer to God, to help us function better as a local church, and to better equip us for reaching out to those

around us.

Sunday morning we worshipped in Chemnitz. Larry preached on Eccl. 5:1 “Watch your step!” After worship, we had a fellowship meal and met with the visitors. Later in the afternoon we made the hour-long trip to Leipzig one last time, where we shared in worship with the church family there. The Chemnitz youth were also present, as they were involved in a youth activity in Leipzig over the weekend. It was a great fellowship! We also spent some quality time with our son in Leipzig. We are packing the car again, and are headed off to the Czech Republic for a few days of R&R on the way to Vienna. We arrive in Vienna on Friday, where Pam and I are teaching 3 hours each in a seminar for the men and the women on

Saturday.

Blessings to all, and thank you for your prayers,

Larry and Pam
