WHMS has already been making a difference!

• For nearly 15 years, we have had curricular units that provide opportunities for students to discover their connection to the natural world.

• We are also a Maryland Green School that connects classroom learning to recycling, energy conservation, habitat restoration and much more.

• The Department of School Facilities and the Department of Instruction are working together to assist schools with their conservation efforts.

Natural Resource Conservation Pledge

• This year, we want to renew our commitment to conserving natural resources. It is important to conserve what we have on this earth, and it saves us money too!

• Our individual efforts do add up. There are 19,000 students and staff in Calvert County Public Schools.

• Each school will receive a banner that will let our school community know that conserving natural resources is important to all of us.

• This banner will serve as a visual reminder of our commitment to conserve natural resources.

• This is a special year as our school is due to recertify as a Maryland Green School.

• When each of us sticks to this pledge, it means that 750 people at our school are making choices and taking actions every day that are good for the environment.
