Please describe the important issues raised by state leaders/members that need to berelayed to the NSPE Board. Note any issues that you feel require the Board'simmediate attention.

None that need immediate attention.

ISPE has several inactive chapters and is considering merging chapters. Leadershipdevelopment at the chapter level is needed. The pipeline of chapter leaders transitioning tostate leaders could use some infusion of members.

ISPEs House of Delegates (HoD) representative has been MIA during the past severalmonths. No one knows why. ISPE is trying to find someone to go to the 3-day HoD meetingin Minneapolis. Alternate HoD rep Brad Bowen may not be able to go to Minneapolis. Longterm goal is to have Mike Shirley be the HoD rep for the coming two years.

Note ISPE's Amy Barrett has been selected to be the new Central Region Regional Directoron the NSPE Board. I recommend that Amy be the Board's liaison to the MembershipCommittee.

The Conference is a source of revenue for ISPE and its continuing education program is ayear-around activity that also generates non-dues revenue.

ISPE has de-activated its interest groups and will be updating its bylaws this coming year toreflect how it is now operating.

New ISPE President Nixon will be sending personalized letters to all new PEs encouragingthem to join NSPEIISPE.

ISPE is a three-tier state with no thoughts of state-only membership.

Please list any presentations made (e.g., keynote, membership workshop, etc.) andNSPE resources used (e.g., officer talking points, PowerPoint presentations,Membership Toolkit, etc.)

I delivered a 50-minute presentation on the NSPE Code of Ethics as a General Session to allwho participated in the meeting. It was a full house as all Indiana license renewals require aPDH for ethics.

I also provided remarks at the Installation Banquet focusing on the Race for Relevanceinitiative.

Please list any successful state and chapter programs that you heard about and thatyou feel would provide a valuable model for other states/chapters.

ISPE is active in "Celebrate Science Indiana", an event held at the Indiana Fairgrounds thatattracted 3,000 people this year to promote science and technology.

Please list the names and phone numbers of members that you met who should be

considered for service on national committees and task forces. Please explain brieflywhy you are recommending the individual (e.g., He/she developed an outstandingrecruitment program that brought in 50 new members. Or He/she showed outstandingleadership qualities and creative ideas at a particular meeting/session.) Also indicatewhich committee the individual should serve on.

Did you hear of any major issues that NSPE should be aware of? If so, pleasedescribe. Also, to promote the resolution of issues that arise during state visits, please provide the name, phone number and e-mail address of those individuals whohave questions or comments relating to NSPE programs, activities, operations, etc. fortimely follow-up by the NSPE volunteer leadership and/or NSPE staff.

None.

Please indicate any newsworthy or image-enhancing events, programs, projects, orpersonalities that should be forwarded to the NSPE Publications Department forconsideration as a news or feature story.

I recommend touching base with Brad Bowen on the "Celebrate Science Indiana" activity.

Other comments on your visit.

The hospitality extended to me by the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers was muchappreciated.

The continuing education part of the Conference included three tracks, one that was focusedon practice/management.
