Acts 14:21-22 - After preaching the Good News in Derbe and making many disciples, Paul and Barnabas returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch of Pisidia, 22where they strengthened the believers.  

They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God. NLT

Matthew 16:24-25 - Then Jesus said to the disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.

 

25If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. NLT

 

Matthew 19:27-29 - Then Peter said to him, “We’ve given up everything to follow you. What will we get?”

 

28And Jesus replied, “I assure you that when the world is made new and the Son of Man sits upon his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

 

29And everyone who has given up houses, or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life. NLT

 

 

2 Timothy 2:3-4 - Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them. NLT

Romans 8:17-18 - And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. 

 

18Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. NLT

 

Matthew 10:24-26 & 28 - ”Students are not greater than their teacher, and slaves are not greater than their master.

25Students are to be like their teacher, and slaves are to be like their master. And since I, the master of the household have been called the prince of demons, the members of my household will be called by even worse names.

26But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed; and all that is secret will be made known to all.   

 

28Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body, they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” NLT
