Why OpenOffice?

five

words

1. Money

1. Money

OpenOffice is free. There are no license costs. You don't have to pay for each user. Employees can take a copy home. You don't have to control who is using it. You are not forced to install crippled versions. Each branch office can have all the copies they need.

With OpenOffice, you don't have to use your money to buy a paper wich allows you to use the software.

2. Standard

2. Standard

OpenOffice uses OpenDocument format, the only office document format approved as ISO standard .

You will always be able to access your OpenOffice documents, and no software company can stop you by changing versions or modifying its license.

OpenDocument is the format of the future: many software companies will use it to exchange information between applications.

3. Quality

3. Quality

OpenOffice is founded on code provided by Sun Microsystems, the IT company known worldwide for the quality of its products. Sun keeps contributing code and resources to OpenOffice, and it sells a version called StarOffice.

Hundreds of thousands of users take part in the process of error detection. OpenOffice community fix those errors in hours or days. You will never have to wait months or years for a new version that fixes the bugs of the current version.

4. Easy

4. Easy

OpenOffice is very easy. If you have ever used an office suite, you will be able to use OpenOffice without further training.

It saves your document as a PDF file. It reads and saves files with Microsoft's OpenOffice format. It is translated to your language. It is easy to upgrade and easy to manage and administer.

OpenOffice has a high quality free support provided by thousands of volunteers, and you can also buy paid support from one of the many companies that provide this service.

5. Free

5. Free

Most important: OpenOffice is free. This means that you can use the software any way you want. You can copy, give or distribute it to whoever you want. You can install it all the times that you want, in every computer that you want. You can even change it, if you need to.

You can do all these things and nobody will ever say that you are a thief or that you are stealing its intellectual property.

OpenOffice frees you from the burden of the license terms of proprietary software companies.

Why don't you see OpenOffice benefits

by yourself?
