WHY TWO-STAGE COMPRESSION?

High pressure capabilities (pressure to 500PSIG)

Improved energy efficiency (higherCFM/Horsepower)

Reduced compression ratios per stage

Reduced internal leakage losses

Longer bearing life

APPLICATIONS

Gas Gathering

Well-head Gas compression

Fuel Gas Boosting

Vapor Recovery

Inert Gas Boosting

Landfill Gas Compression

Biogas Compression

Syngas Compression

Two-stage rotary screw compressors are very cost-effective for handling high volumes of gas at higher

pressures in field gathering, vapor recovery and other

applications. The work is divided between two-stagesreducing the forces on the rotating elements and

bearings.

6400 Series package features include our Evolution Xmicroprocessor based control panel with touch-screen.This easy to operate panel provides clear LCD read-out

of actual pressure and temperature status, shutdown setpoints, operating history etc. Recycle valves are

controlled by digital smart positioners.

In many applications, rotary screw gas compressors offer

a lower initial investment, reduced maintenance costs andimproved operating efficiencies over conventional

reciprocating gas compression equipment.

Low maintenance and high reliability are inherent with

rotary screws because they have few moving parts. There are no valves, rings or packing to wear out or cause

loss of efficiency.

Smooth operation results from no unbalanced forces andno pressure pulsations. No foundation is required.

Gas differential pressure provides oil circulation for properlubrication at differential pressures over 60 PSI. An

optional oil pump is available for applications with lessthan 60 PSI differential pressure.

Lower Initial CostsThe up-front cost of a rotary screw compressor is

considerably lower than that of a reciprocating type unit

with the same capabilities. The compressor blocks are

complete with no need for special cylinder sizing or

pulsation vessels and take up far less space in the overall

package design. Package design also requires less

interconnecting piping, which lowers the assembly timeand costs.

Lower Operating Costs

With few moving parts and long-life bearings, the rotary

screw compressor provides a lower operating cost thanreciprocating and rotary vane compressors. With properpreventive maintenance, a rotary screw compressor will

provide years of trouble-free service. They require verylittle maintenance – only changing of the oil filters

regularly, monitoring the oil for contaminants orbreakdown and changing the oil when necessary.

Increased FlexibilityRotary screw compressors are proven to be the most

cost-effective solution for many gas compression

applications. Their ability to operate throughout a widerange of conditions gives the rotary screw a distinct

advantage over all other types of compressors.

Pulsation Free CompressionRotary screw technology eliminates pulsations, common

in other compressor types, virtually eliminating anyexcessive vibration possibilities.

THE LOGICAL CHOICE WHEN THERE’S NO TIME FOR DOWN-TIME

FULLY PACKAGED - Every Vector 6400 Series two-stage compressor package is completely assembled and testedunder load to make sure it leaves our plant in perfect operating condition.

FIELD PROVEN DESIGN - Vector 6400 Series packages incorporate field proven LeRoi oil-injected rotary screw

compressors which are manufactured right here in North America.

INTEGRAL GEARING – With a wide range of standard gear ratios available, LeRoi offers the most cost-effective andefficient compressor selection in the industry. This wide selection of gear ratios, allows us to optimize the compressor

performance in relation to drive speed and horsepower.

LONG BEARING LIFE – Using roller bearings on the inlet end and tempered roller bearings on the discharge endresults in a long bearing life. All bearings also have steel cages for corrosion resistance and custom designed internal

clearance.

HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION - All iron and steel construction, with no copper or copper alloys, makes LeRoi

compressors compatible with a variety of gases including both sweet and sour natural gas, biogas, syngas, nitrogenetc. Positive rotary shaft seals keep lubricants in and air out.

FULL RANGE OF ELECTRICAL CLASSIFICATIONS – Vector 6400 Series compressor packages are available forunclassified, Class 1, Division 2 and Class 1, Division 1 electrical classifications.

ENGINEERED FOR MAXIMUM SAFETY – All packages are manufactured to ASME code and all provincial/state

electrical code requirements. Pressure vessels are hydrostatically tested for complete user safety and equipped withapproved ASME code safety relief valves.

VARIABLE Vi/INTERNAL PORTING – LeRoi’s adjustable Variable Vi on the HGS17, HG17, HG24, LG30 and LGL30gas compressors allows discharge porting to be selected “on the go”. This matches the internal compression to the

application requirements for maximum compression efficiency. For HG10 and HG12 units, low, medium and highratio internal porting is available.

EVOLUTION X CONTROL PANEL – Evolution X is a full-featured compressor control panel that brings managementof all systems together on a 5.7” color touch-screen. Suction and discharge pressures are managed using a

combination of analog I/O and onboard PID capability. Compressor operating parameters, relay status and system

fault information are clearly displayed on-screen, so users can easily make necessary adjustments. Because

Evolution X control panels use analog outputs and dry contacts, they can communicate with virtually any variablefrequency drive or across-the-line motor starter.

OPTIONAL OPTIMIZER PLUS VARIABLE CAPACITY CONTROL SYSTEM – Applied Compression System’sOPTIMIZER PLUS step unloading system is an available option on Vector 6400 Series compressor packages. This

system utilizes a series of by-pass ports that are located on the side of the compressor so that progressive steps ofby-pass to the inlet cavity can be obtained, reducing the volume of gas trapped for compression. The result is a

reduction in capacity and horsepower. The amount of turndown depends on the number of ports that are opened.

As each valve is fully opened the capacity will be reduced by approximately 13% and the power reduced by 6%.Depending on the compressor speed and operating conditions, up to 50% capacity turn-down can be achieved, as

well as corresponding energy saving of up to 25%.

CUSTOM DESIGNED PACKAGES – Applied Compression is dedicated to servicing custom design applications. Ifone of our existing models does not meet the exact specifications of your application, we offer custom applicationassistance to either modify an existing model or develop a customer specific compressor. The flexibility of our Custom

Design Services makes Applied Compression the perfect solution for your custom application needs.
