tomorrow, Team Tennis hosted their first home match of the season on Thursday, and varsity football will kick off
their season on September 1st versus Mabank. We encourage our fans to come out and support all our fall sports.
As a reminder, please don’t forget Meet the Wildcats, Monday, August 28th, 7:00 p.m., Wildcat Gym! We look forward
to introducing our football, cross country, fall tennis, and volleyball teams, as well as student trainers, band
members, cheerleaders and Kik Kats. Representatives from the PISD Athletic Booster Club will be available, also, to

FOOTBALL:
The Wildcat Varsity Football Team played and lost a tough game to Fairfield on
Friday, September 15th, 6-34. The defense lead by senior, Roderick Deyon played
valiantly all night long. Deyon had 15 tackles, while sophomore Keshawn Nonette
had 11 tackles from his linebacker position. Junior Josh Williams had a fumble
recovery for a touchdown which proved to be the only score on the night for the
Wildcats. This Friday, September 22nd, the Wildcats will travel to Van to take on
the state ranked Vandals. Make plans to come out and support the teams as they
look to bounce back and gain momentum going into district.
The Junior Varsity Wildcats Football Team was defeated 35 to 7
during Thursday night's competition by the Van Vandals. Marquis Thompson
scored a touchdown on a pass from quarterback Chris Perez. Mario Gonzales
added the extra point. Despite the adversity the Wildcats continue to work hard

Free/Reduced applications are online. Parents can access from home computer, their students
iPad, a computer at the campus, or a computer at the library.
www.palestineschools.org click on Departments click on Food Services
Look for Meal App Now – Online Meal Applications link on right side of page.
Parents must fill out a new application EVERY YEAR. If you print out the application from the
PISD Website, it can take up to 10 working days for our office to process the app. If there are
errors on the app, we have to send it back to parent to correct. On-line apps prevent mistakes
because the program won’t let the parent submit it if required information is missing. If we
receive it electronically, it takes just a few clicks and the app is processed.
Per David Atkeisson, students may “charge” meals for the first 2 weeks of school, to allow time
for the apps to be processed. This doesn’t mean their meal is free. Parents are still responsible
for paying those “charges” no matter what the outcome of their app is once processed.
Menus are accessed by clicking on the Nutrislice apple icon (bottom left of page) on the
Food Service page of PISD website or go to www.palestineschools.nutrislice.com.
Meal prices are the same as last year and located on the PISD website.
Each campus will be offering meals to teachers/para’s/admin beginning in September.
An email will be sent with menu options and instructions on how to place your order.
Lunch is only $3.25.
