The propertyWillaston Hall was built in about 1700 with early 19th century additions and alterations. It is the former Cheshire residence of British designer Clive Christian O.B.E. The property offers in excess of 7,000sq ft of superior and elegant accommodation set over two floors with an attic to the central portion, all rooms echoing the Clive Christian luxury style. Externally, the immediate grounds of about 4.8 acres include two paddocks, mature landscaped gardens and ample garaging and parking.

AccommodationThe front of the property is approached via a sweeping driveway off Park Road and leads to a gravelled parking and turning area. Four steps lead up to the front door with stone surround and pediment. The grand limestone and marble floored entrance hall with original turned staircase, provides access to the front-facing and light-filled reception rooms and cellar. To the right of the entrance is the morning room, former library dating from 1737, it is referenced by authors Peter de Figueiredo and Julian Treuherz (Cheshire Country Houses) as the best room in the house. This room has raised and fielded panelling, an original 18th century fireplace with two homely maidens, Night and Day supporting the mantel, and in the centre is the head of Apollo within a sunburst. A door opens through to the impressive drawing room with a focal open fireplace and access to the kitchen. To the left of the entrance hallway is another beautiful room with study and living area and open fireplace with stone surround. Continuing through the property, the dining room offers a formal setting for entertaining with a feature carved oak surround fireplace. Off here is the rear entrance hallway with a superb range of bespoke storage cupboards and access to the rear parking area.

The kitchen/breakfast room is beautifully fitted and simply stunning. There is an Italian marble island, four oven Aga, Gaggenau and Miele appliances and plenty of space for a breakfast table. Off the kitchen is a well-fitted utility room with Belfast sink, Maytag washing machine and dryer and ample storage.

Gardens and groundsThe beautiful landscaped grounds of Willaston Hall are as much a feature of the property as the rooms and architecture. At the rear, a gravelled pathway, flanked either side by lawned areas leads to a secluded box hedge rose garden with two attractive fountains which create a calm and tranquil atmosphere. Aside the box garden is a stunning arched pergola through which there is a further mature garden, interspersed with specimen trees and well-established borders. Well-located outside the kitchen door is an abundant herb garden beyond which is an ornamental pond and access to a brick built store with gardeners wc.

The property has two entrances, the main front entrance is reached off Park Road and the rear entrance is reached off Hall Drive. The rear driveway leads to a decorative granite and cobblestone parking area, triple garage, garden store and further outbuildings with additional gardeners wc.

Beyond here is a multi-purpose boot room with guest cloakroom off and access to the garden.

The first floor accommodation is remarkable and comprises a master bedroom suite, a further en suite bedroom with dressing room off and a third bedroom serviced by a shower room opposite. The second floor has three additional bedrooms, a bathroom and store room. The majority of bathroom fittings are by Fired Earth.
