Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

This is your fundraising packet. We are asking for your cooperation to make this program a huge success.

Instead of selling products that you may or may not need, we are conducting a pledge drive. It does not

involve selling, and the best part is that the students will not be responsible for money collection. It will be

done primarily through direct mail. Pledges and donations will be taken through the mail, which will allowus to raise funds beyond our own community.

Each of the packets contains 15 pledge/donation letters. To be successful, we recommend you prepare 15

pledge letters to be mailed out. The pledge letters to be mailed out will allow you to contact people you

normally would not be able to reach during a regular product-type fundraiser. Basically, we will be able to

run a fundraiser on a national scale. As with any fundraiser, it is most effective to mail or personally

approach friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers, business contacts, etc. (NOTE: do not mail letters tobusinesses unless you have a personal contact). Remember, your results will depend on both the qualityand quantity of your potential sponsors. If you need extra pledge letters, you may pick up extras from your

advisor.

Please fill out both sides of the pledge/donation form. The Message: area on the top of front form is very

important. It is the part that will personalize the letter. It can be as simple as Dear Aunt Joan, would you

please sponsor me in this pledge drive.

On the reverse side of the pledge/donation letter, you will notice the section for the Sponsor Information.

Fill out the address area completely using a pen. Please be neat. If it cant be read, it will not be delivered

and end up as Return to Sender mail. Our volunteers will handle the actual mailing (students, all you needto do is fill out both sides of the form). All pledge/donation letters should be returned by the due date

below.

One of the main purposes of this fund-raiser is to eliminate money collection by students or their

parents/guardians. Therefore, all sponsors will be billed directly by the school as a result of this pledge

drive even the sponsors you saw personally.

INSTRUCTION:

1. Fill out both sides of pledge/donation letter.

2. Please carefully fill out the Sponsor Information (address) on the back of the pledge letter.

3. You are limited to a maximum of15 pledge letters to be mailed (we mail the letters for you).4. For proper credit, make sure theStudent Information Section is completely filled out on every

pledge letter.

5. Return all completed pledge letters in this same envelope packet. If sponsor gives donation,

Reminder: Your success and the success of your organization will depend more on the quality of your
