Our Energy

–The alternative energy for Northern Ireland we chose was Wind Power.

Why we picked Our Topic!

• We picked wind power because it was a very easy topic to research.

• With all of this information we would be able to form a good seven slides power-point presentation.

How is it produced?

• Wind power is produced by the movement of a wind turbine being moved by the wind.

• We capture the energy through Large wind turbines.

• The turbine turns round and round which turns a generator for power.

Advantages.

• 1) The advantages of wind power are that it is free and produces no pollution.

• 2) The other advantage is that the wind farms for the turbines do not need any fuel to power all the turbines for movement because the wind moves them.

Disadvantages.

• They are also bad because they have some disadvantages too, they are as follows:

• 1) They cover the landscape with towers which is unsightly.

• 2) Also, some days in the year also have no wind which produces no energy.

Is it Reliable?

• Yes they are reliable because it is very cheap but in some days they do not produce power because of the lack of wind like below in the picture.

Conclusion

• Wind power is a good source of energy because it is free and winds farms do not need fuel and they produce no pollution which already is helping the environment.

• We also found out the energy is produced by the turbines turning a generator.
