Waterway Arts Festival Winners

We’re super proud of our students who won $3000 in scholarships from the Waterway Arts Festival last Saturday! We had a total of 5 winners. Ms. Fort’s students; Isabella Tyson took First, Christian Cancienne was Second, Carli Menter was Third AND Alexandra Jackson and Karla Alcala Orozco both received an Honorable Mention in 2D Mixed Media (they won the entire category!!) The winners will be displayed at the festival April 13-14th.

Operation Graduation Calling all SENIORS!!!! Operation Graduation will be held on May 28th from 11 PM to 5 AM at Main Event. We will have a ton of food, bowling, arcade games, lazer tag, karaoke, and much much more! We will also be doing raffles for "college items" throughout the evening! You will not want to miss this event! Tickets will go on sale in May and will be $50 a ticket for a memorable, fun-filled evening with your friends!

Golf Regional Qualifiers

Sloane Bennett Qualified for the 6A Region II Golf Championship for the second straight year. Tournament will be played at Cottonwood Creek in Waco April 24-25.

Prom Tickets Prom Package and Fundraiser Ticket Information Seniors who purchased a prom package or who participated in the fundraiser still have to pick up a prom ticket and are required to clear all fines and fees. Seniors can bring one guest to prom under the age of 21.

Mr. Oak Ridge

Mr. Oak Ridge is a school tradition hosted every year by the National Honor Society. It’s a male pageant that allows boys from all different clubs and organizations to showcase their unique talents! The proceeds from Mr. Oak Ridge will go to Free the Captives Houston, an organization dedicated to combating human trafficking. The Pageant will be held on April 24th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be $8 at the door and $5 during all lunches in the month of April! We hope to see you there!

Powder Puff

Operation Graduation's Junior vs Senior Powder Puff Game will take place on Thursday, May 9th. Registration will take place on Wednesdays and Fridays through April 12th. It will be $25 for girls that want to play in the game and for guys that would like to cheer! The $25 fee will include a Powder Puff Class of 2019 or Class of 2020 t-shirt. We will have coaches and training days. There will be a mandatory meeting for all participants on April 22nd at 3:15 in the 9th Grade LGI room. This will be a fun event where the

seniors will pass the torch on to the juniors and we will recognize our senior athletes. If you do not want to cheer or play football you can buy a coaching spot for football or cheer, sports trainer, or announcer spot for $5. During the event we will have several food trucks that will be there for your enjoyment! They will be donating part of their proceeds to Operation Graduation!

AP Prep Conference

The 12th annual AP Prep Conference student registration is now open.

What: AP Prep Conference When: Saturday, April 27th Where: College Park High School Time: 8:00 - 12:30 Who: 9th - 12th grade students currently enrolled in an AP course and taking the AP exam(s) in May

Please note the following information: the conference is free of charge the conference is "come and go" style

o sessions run from 8:00 - 9:00, 9:10 - 10:10, 10:20 - 11:20, 11:30 - 12:30 students may attend up to four sessions or as few as one session the registration link was also shared with all AP teachers and students may register during

On Campus Parking

All on campus parking spots have been assigned. If your child did not receive a parking spot on campus, they can purchase Woodforest Parking tags for $20 and park at the stadium. A shuttle bus will deliver them to and from school. Before any tag can be purchased, they must register online. All instructions are located on the ORHS website under “Student Parking”. Students can contact Ms. Baumann in A215 with any parking questions.

Food Deliveries to School Oak Ridge High School will not accept student lunch deliveries from a restaurant or from a delivery service such as "doordash." The only lunches that are accepted in the front office are those delivered by a parent or family member and should be picked up in the cafeteria at the Principal’s table during the student’s lunch period. Thank you for you cooperation.

ORHS Attendance Procedures

To report an absence or tardy:

On the day of the student’s absence or tardy a parent or guardian may call the Senior Campus at 832-592-5433 or E-mail [email protected]

Call the Ninth Grade Campus at 281-465-5012. If you do not report the absence or tardy by phone on the day of absence a note from a parent or

guardian with a signature will be required. Returning students must take their signed notes to the attendance office before or after school or

during their lunch period. All students must get an admit slip from the attendance office before returning to class after

being absent.

Check In/Out Procedures:

All students must sign in and out through the attendance office. If a student driver needs to leave campus, a note including the name, date, time leaving and

parent signature and phone number is required. All notes to leave early must be taken to the attendance office the first thing in the morning. All guardians picking students up must present a photo ID upon signing their student out. If a person needs to pick up a student who is not on their pick-up list, the guardian may add them

using the Student Pick Up form located in the attendance office. (If the form is not signed at the attendance office, the guardian must have the form notarized.)

The Emergency Clinic form may not be used for pick up purposes due to HIPPA laws.
