USS John C Stennis Military Support in 2014:
‘Our Military Making A Difference
By Volunteering’
The 2014 holiday season was truly
blessed by the enthusiasm and
cheerful energy of the many volun-
teers from the USS John C. Stennis!
Along with volunteering for Thanks-
giving and Christmas Dinner, they
showed their full support at our
Christmas Toy and Food Give-Away.
Since October, volunteers from the
USS John C Stennis have worked
hundreds of hours cooking, serving,
cleaning and supporting The
Salvation Army with their many
holiday programs.
Thank you to everyone who arrived
before dawn to cook holiday meals
and stayed long after to help clean
up!

A Big Thank You to
Silverdale Whaling Company for
the donation of space for our
Christmas Give-Away on
Dec. 23rd.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous
donor, we were able to serve our guests a
three course meal and dessert on Christmas
Eve. We served over three hundred folks
with a full dinner including prime rib and
shrimp cocktail. But everyone who did wait
was very happy with their meal! It was the
best prime rib we have ever served!

A Christmas Moment To Remember: There were so many magical moments this
Christmas but one particular story stood out because the family was in so much need
and their sponsors were so generous in their support! A family was adopted had re-
cently been homeless and was setting up a new home. They asked for the basics for a
new home and especially winter items for their children. Their Adopters went all out
and provided new dishes, pots and pans, new linens and towels. The father was so
overwhelmed by their generosity, he cried when we showed him his families Christmas
gifts. The sponsors also provided clothing, winter coats, gloves and a large supply of
sundry items. It was so generous for a family that needed that support so very much!
It was beautiful and exactly why we have the Adopt A Family Program.
