On the road• Start off slowly

• Drive smoothly, allowing plenty of space

• Activate your directional signals sooner

Prevention Checklist

• Install UL- approved CO alarms. • Have gas appliances and water heater. professionally

inspected annually.• Use fuel-burning space heaters temporarily.• Do not start or leave running cars in enclosed areas.• If a CO alarm sounds, shut off all possible sources of

CO and ventilate your home. If the alarm sounds again, immediately contact a qualified professional to inspect for leaks.

• If family members are experiencing symptoms of CO poisoning, evacuate your home andcall your fire department.
