ION REGISTRATION POLICIES

1. GLAC reserves the right to cancel programs with low enrollment. Refunds will be issued to the participant in the manner in which they paid for the canceled class.

2. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations initiated by the participants in any program.

3. Refunds, credits or make-up classes will not be given for classes missed by the participant. Otherwise, makeup classes will be scheduled at the discretion of the instructor or Program Director.

4. Registration is accepted during scheduled registration dates only.

5. Registration is accepted on a space-available basis in all programs.

6. Once registration is closed, participants may not switch to another class day and/or time.

7. Additional policies may be found in specific program guidelines.

8. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES Great Lakes Athletic Club follows Lake Orion Community Schools inclement weather policy. Therefore, if there is no school and/or if Lake Orion Community Schools determines that after school and evening programs are canceled, GLAC’s children’s classes and programs will be canceled as well. EXCEPTION: Martial Arts - See Master Floyd Soo for cancellation policies.

HOW TO REGISTER1. To ensure proper enrollment, completely fill out the appropriate registration form and confirm that all information provided is correct.

2. A registration form needs to be completed for each class and/or participant enrolling for any program.

3. Payment in full must be provided at time of registration.

4. A Parent or Legal Guardian must register minors.

WHERE TO REGISTER1. In Person: We will be accepting registration during the registration dates in the Member Activities office.

S GLAC BIRTHDAY PARTIES (Ages 5 - 11) GLAC is happy to do all the work for your birthday celebrations! We offer two and three hour parties that will be set up, supervised and cleaned by enthusiastic GLAC counselors. Birthday party activities may include rock climbing, gym games and pool time. GLAC will supply pizza, beverages, and all the paper products; you just need to bring the cake and decorations.

Minimum 10 children.

About Maria: A marathoner x7 and Boston Marathon Qualifier x3, Maria and will run her third Boston Marathon this April (2019). This past spring, she also time qualified for the 2019 New York City Marathon with a NYC Half Marathon finish time of 1:30:58 (6:57/mile pace). Maria believes that you’re a runner if you have even the tiniest desire to run, and she’s passionate about helping all runners realize their potential and achieve their goals.

EXCEL TRIATHLON coaching with Gary GreibGary is a USAT certified coach with 17 years of competitive racing experience. His personal accomplishments include numerous podium finishes, achieving a USAT All-American status 5 times and qualifying for the Boston Marathon and Ironman World Championships (both 70.3 and Kona). Gary will be offering triathlon coaching services at GLAC , including customized training plans, swim/bike/run technique assessment (with video capability), general nutrition guidelines, mental skills training, strength and stretching routines, equipment selection guidance, race nutrition and planning.

1) Triathlon/Freestyle Swim Class Tuesdays 7-8pm (4 weeks starting January 8)A coached freestyle swim class consisting of freestyle swim drills, a mainset, pull buoy and kick sets to improve freestyle swimming. Coaching feedback will be provided during the sessions. Must be able to swim a minimum of 8 pool lengths (200yds) without stopping.

Member: $60 Non-Member: $100 (4 participants minimum)

2) Triathlon/Race Bike Class Thursdays 7-8pm (4 weeks starting January 10)A coached bike class focused on improving pedaling technique, bike endurance, and bike power. The class will utilize a training plan designed to peak bike power for the summer race season. Music playlists will be provided, and topics related to triathlon/bike race performance will be discussed.

TANG SOO DO (Ages 8 - Adult) Member: $88 Non-Member: $98Tang Soo Do, more popularly known as “Korean Karate,” is a Korean Martial art similar to Japanese Karate. This art has evolved into one of the most effective means of unarmed self-defense ever created. Master Floyd Soo has been involved in martial arts since 1967. He holds a seventh degree black belt (Master Instructor Rating) in Moo Duk Kwan-Tang Soo Do. THIS CLASS MEETS TWICE A WEEK.Monday & Wednesday 7:15p.m. - 9:15 p.m. Studio A

INSTRUCTOR’S CLASS (Black Belt) Member: $70 Non-Member: $80This class is dedicated to Black Belts and Black Belt Candidates (students preparing for Black Belt testing). LEARN TO SWIM WITH SWIM 101Swim 101 is a swim school that takes great pride in every gain our swimmers make. These gains may be as simple as a child putting their head underwater to overcoming a big fear, or it could be swimming 300 yards in our pool as they test to advance into the next level.

We offer multiple stages of swim from Infant (3-36 months) to Toddler (3-4 years) to a Kid Programs (5 years and older).

Designed by IYCA Speed and Agility Specialists, the Sports Performance Training program includes speed work, agility drills, strength training as well as proper warm up and stretching techniques.
