MembershipHealth and Fitness Programs for all ages and abilities. Have questions about our health and fitness programs? We’ve got answers!

What is included with my membership?When you join a YMCA Health & Fitness Centre, you can participate in all adult programs offered - as often as you want! Take a look at our programs schedules located at http://ymcaofceo.ca/program_schedules.php for more information.

Bring a Friend - You can bring as many guests as you wish! Limit 2 guests, per visit.• The first time anyone visits the YMCA, they are provided with a complimentary pass.• Members are encouraged to bring guests to the facility. Any guest 16 years and older will be required to show valid photo identification in

order to gain access to the facility. For a safe and enjoyable visit we ask that members accompany their guests during their visit to the facility. ** Please note the individual guests are limited to three free accesses via YMCA guest passes. If your friend joins the YMCA, you get a FREE month on us!

No Locked in Contracts - You may cancel your membership at any time by.....• Cancellation requests must be received from you in writing (either by email to [email protected], or by signing a cancellation form in person

at the centre.)• A minimum notice of 10 business days before payment date is needed to cancel your membership.• Cancellations can’t be backdated and we do not issue refunds.

Convenient & Affordable Kidskare YMCA Kids Kare is a safe, fun and stimulating environment for parents to leave their children newborn to age 9, while you get healthy your way. Parents must stay in the building at all times and inform the Kids Kare staff where they will be in the facility. *In order to provide quality care for your children, a limit of 6 infantspaces will be available at any given time.

Celebrate your next birthday party at the YMCA and enjoy our brand new Play Zone Treehouse (socks are required to participate) and Ninja Zone! Our birthday party host will keep the kids occupied in these new kid-friendly zones full of exploring, climbing, sliding, obstacles and more.

Parties are available Saturdays and Sundays each week. Upon booking a $50 non-refundable deposit is required. Call the YMCA Membership Services Desk today for more information at (613) 966-9622.

Includes Birthday Child and 9 friends. Additional children are $10.00 per child.

Yoga Challenge your spirit, mind and body as you move through a series of basic yoga postures and stretches. Practiced for centuries, yoga is an energizing and relaxing experience that will strengthen you mentally and physically. Cardio Strength This cardio and strength based workout changes every week! Participants of all fitness levels will enjoy both high and low impact options. This workout combines cardio, strength and balance exercises in a variety of styles followed by stretching. Monday 6:30 - 7:30pm (Gym)

Core & StretchThis class combines traditional core exercises with elements of yoga and pilates focusing on position and alignment to create long, lean, functional muscles through all of the core area. Wednesday 6:15 – 6:45pm (Gym)

Simply StrengthTrain those muscles. This strength only class will use a variety of equipment to give you a full body workout. Thursday 6:00 - 7:00pm (Gym)

Sculpt & ToneTake it to the next level, tighten and shape your physique. This full body work-out using weights will challenge your strength and flexibility with a balance of muscle conditioning and stretching.Tuesday 9:30am – 10:30am (Gym)Saturday 9:00am – 10:00am (Gym)

Full Body HIIT Have a blast while challenging yourself physically and mentally with interval training! This 30 minute class is focused on improving cardiovascular conditioning and gaining strength using high intensity interval training (HIIT). HIIT is proven to burn more fat in less time and creates an after-burn that keeps you burning calories long after you have left the gym. These short workouts pack a big punch – bring your enthusiasm (and a friend!) and get ready to HIIT it!Tuesday 5:30 - 6:30pm (Gym)

MeditationEnjoy the experience of being guided through a series of meditation techniques that will enhance your ability to calm your mind and heal your body. This mindfulness meditation practice uses mantra, breath work and other visualization techniques to create a sense of calm and peacefulness within oneself. Turf TimePlay in the grass without provoking an allergy flare-up!• Learn how to use the “RIG” – speak with a Conditioning Centre staff for a demo anytime• Participate in a group circuit• Join a member challenge – see information boards for detailsDemo time is all the time, the attending Conditioning Centre staff will be happy to give you a tour of the rig and its features whenever you like! NEW Gentle Yoga Gentle yoga will appeal to all ages and skill levels and is a great place to start, using modifications, alternatives and props. Yoga is a mind and body practice that typically combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation. Yoga can be helpful in reducing chronic low-back pain and improving function. Yoga is generally safe in healthy people, however, if you have special health considerations talk with your health care provider before starting yoga.Tuesday 10:45am - 11:45am

NEW Eat Well! Live Well! (Winter Session)Join us for a 12-week nutrition program focusing on foods that heal. One hour a week our nutritionist will take you on a restorative journey. Each week will consist of a tasting of a healthy snack idea, a new nutrition topic, plus a focus on simple nutrition habits you can start right away all in a funfilled,encouraging atmosphere. KickboxingThis class includes a calorie burning workout with cardiovascular and resistance components combined with self defense moves. Theworkout routine will build coordination, agility and stamina as well as relieve stress while having fun! Post Rehab Maintenance Program Led by Certified Trainers and designed for participants who have experienced a cardiac event or have been diagnosed with high risk factors for heart disease, metabolic disorders, chronic lung disease or have experienced a stroke. Program includes cardiovascular, strength, balance & flexibility components and ends with a guided meditation for improved quality of life. Participants are either referred by Hotel Dieu Hospital, Belleville General Hospital or have signed approval of a Cardiologist or Family Physician.Tuesday & Thursday 1:30pm – 3:00pmYM - $50.00+hst NM - $110.00+hst

Adult Fitness Classes

NEW Family & Youth Try a Tri at the Y! (Spring Session)Multi endurance sport straining is a great way to make friends and try different sports while providing the opportunity to stay fit and develop the skills to complete a multi sport event. Why not try this as a family? A great way to learn something new, set goals, complete an event and be active together. This program is suitable for beginners and those who have done multi level sport training in the past. You train to meet your own personal goals. This program will include indoor swimming, indoor and outdoor cycling and running. Participants will be required to have suitable attire for all 3 sports. Children under 10 years can participate provide that a parent or guardian is participating with them, they can fit safely and comfortably on the cyclefit bikes, and they are comfortable in deep water (belts can be worn). Youth 10 and over can participate with-out a parent or guardian. All participants will be invited to participate in a Try a Tri event hosted by the YMCA in June. Fitness Leadership

The YMCA developed the first nationally recognized Fitness Leadership program in 1974 and continues to train Fitness Leaders today. By fostering relationship building, YMCA fitness leadership programs create a positive atmosphere where community members can achieve their personal and professional goals.

Each course is a combination of online material, face to face sessions and practical skill development. Be a part of the YMCA health and wellness movement and take this nationally recognized certification program to get you started in this exciting industry as a fitness professional.

Certification options include: Cycle, Resistance, Cardio, Aquafit, Older Adult or Wellness CoachMember $295.00 + HST Non Member $475.00 + HST

Specialized certifications include: Personal Training or YogaMember $349.00 + HST Non Member $495.00 + HST

Pickle Ball One of the fastest growing sports in North America, Pickle Ball is a paddle sport that has very simple rules and is easy to learn and play. Adults especially love the social aspects and the ability to stay fit through interactive sport. Urban Poling Also known as Nordic walking—think cross-country skiing without the skis—has toning, calorie-burning and posture benefits that have made it popular in Europe for decades and a new workout favorite in Canada. Learn how to adjust your poles and walk naturally, then how to increase intensity to engage your core, burn more calories and improve posture all while reducing the load on your knees and hips. Poles are provided or participants may bring their own. No prior experience needed. We will be walking outside. PA Day Camp The camp experience is hard to beat! Memories of special friends and learning new skills, – that’s what it’s all about! YMCA Camps have been providing this opportunity to children for over a century. That’s a lot of laughter. You can trust the YMCA to put the well-being of your child first. With personalized attention and emphasis on your child’s unique development, we welcome each child into a healthy, safe and stimulating environment. We choose our staff carefully from those with strong YMCA values, from those that have a passion to make learning fun, and from the ranks of our year-round school-age care staff. Babysitting CourseThe Babysitters Training Course laid out by the Canadian Safety Council is aimed at young people turning 12 years of age and up. Aquatic Levels for Child and Youth

Continuous swim lessons is the name given to YMCA’s swim lesson format, which offers lessons throughout the year and eliminates the need for participants to re-register. It provides the ability for participants to register at any time and progress at their own pace within a group. Program break weeks will occur March, September, and December/January. Progress cards are available online. Once you register for a time slot, it is yours to keep until:

• you choose to move to a different day or time;• your membership becomes inactive;• you miss three classes in a row without informing the YMCA.

If your child is going to miss three classes in a row please inform the membership desk as this will allow us to save your child’s space. Otherwise we will assume you are no longer interested in attending and place someone else in the space.

NEW Family & Youth Try a Tri at the Y! (Spring Session)Multi endurance sport straining is a great way to make friends and try different sports while providing the opportunity to stay fit and develop the skills to complete a multi sport event. Why not try this as a family? A great way to learn something new, set goals, complete an event and be active together. This program is suitable for beginners and those who have done multi level sport training in the past. You train to meet your own personal goals. This program will include indoor swimming, indoor and outdoor cycling and running. Participants will be required to have suitable attire for all 3 sports. Children under 10 years can participate provide that a parent or guardian is participating with them, they can fit safely and comfortably on the cyclefit bikes, and they are comfortable in deep water (belts can be worn). Youth 10 and over can participate with-out a parent or guardian. All participants will be invited to participate in a Try a Tri event hosted by the YMCA in June. NEW Ask our membership staff about our pre-authourized payment program for private, semi-private, SNAP and small group lessons. By signing a pre-authourized payment agreement you can book long term lessons at the same day and time with the same instructor.

Cell Phone/Camera PolicyThe use of cell phones and other electronic devices with cameras is not permitted in our washrooms, change rooms and program areas i.e. Pool, Adult Conditioning Centre and Gymnasium.

Facility RulesIn order to ensure that all our members and participants are safe while they are using the pool, we ask that the rules below are followed:• No outdoor footwear or strollers on the pool deck• All bathers must shower before entering the pool area• No food, drink or gum is permitted on the pool deck

(plastic bottles containing water may be permitted)• Please stay off the railings, lane ropes and buoy lines• Anyone with open wounds or communicable disease is

not permitted in the pool• Proper swim attire is required (modest bathing

suit or clean clothing reserved for swimming)• Please walk on the pool deck• No spitting or spouting the water• Swim diapers are required for those who are not

toilet trained and are available to purchase at the Membership Desk

• Those with serious medical conditions should notify the aquatic staff

• No breath holding activities

Lane Swim Etiquette• Members must swim length circles during all open lane

swim times• Please swim in the lane appropriate to the speed you

are swimming• When you want to join a lane please wait until the

swimmers in the lane see that you are ready to join them

• If you need to pass a swimmer – ensure that there is room on the opposite side and then pull out to pass

Aquatic Lessons All youth and preschool members receive one FREE aquatics program per child per session. Swimming Lessons are now Members Only Programming.

Continuous Swim LessonsContinuous swim lessons is the name given to YMCA’s swim lesson format, which offers lessons throughout the year and eliminates the need for participants to re-register. It provides the ability for participants to register at any time and progress at their own pace within a group. Program break weeks will occur March, September and December/January and June. Progress cards are available online.

Once you register for a time slot, it is yours to keep until:• you choose to move to a different day or time;• your membership becomes inactive;• you miss three classes in a row without informing the

YMCA

If your child is going to miss three classes in a row please email [email protected] as this will allow us to save your child’s space. Otherwise we will assume you are no longer interested in attending and place someone else in the space.

How will my child be assessed? Your child will be continuously evaluated by the instructor. When an instructor feels the child is ready for the next level, a Team Leader will also evaluate. Once a child completes a level, a report card will be done and available online.

Report CardsParents will receive continuous verbal feedback from their child’s swim instructor. Written reports will be available through Swimgen.net throughout lessons. Log in using your child’s participant number (on the back of the membership card). We will be creating formal report cards when your child(ren) pass their level or if you are leaving lessons to take a break.

Pool Admission Policies

To ensure that children have a safe and enjoyable swimming experience, the YMCA of CEO has implemented a wristband procedure. This system allows staff to identify children at greater risk of accidents and ensure adequate supervision when in the pool area. All children 15 years and under will be given an identifying wristband by facility staff. Only those who successfully pass the swim test and obtain a green wristband will be permitted into the deep end of the lap pool. Designated Adult/Guardian must be 16 years or older.

6-9 years 10+ years10+ Cannot Pass

Swim Test—Can Swim Alone. Must remain in the therapeutic

pool or the shallow end of the lap pool.

All children who pass the swim test get a green band. Children 6-9 who can pass the swim test get a green band and can swim alone in either pool. Parent must remain on the pool deck and actively supervising child.

6-9 years

Children 6-9 years who do not pass—adult and child get a red band. Adult in arms reach at all times. Both adult and child must remain in the shallow end of the lap pool or in the therapeutic pool.

0-5 years

Children under 6 are always accompanied—adult and child(ren) get a red band. Adult in arms reach at all times. Both adult and child must remain in the shallow end of the lap pool or in the therapeutic pool. Children under 6 years who can complete the swim test get a green band and parent remains in the pool.

YMCA Facility Swim Test

To successfully pass the swim test individuals must demonstrate comfort in the water and be able to jump into deep water, surface support for 1 minute, swim 1 length of the pool using a supportive stroke in a horizontal body position on front. Only those who successfully pass the swim test and get a green wristband will be permitted into the deep end of the lap pool.

What to Wear

Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diapers or clothing with snug elastic legs. No disposable diapers are permitted. Swim diapers are available for sale at the Membership Desk. Others must wear clean attire used only for swimming.

Serious Medical Conditions

We ask that those with serious medical conditions should ensure that aquatic staff are aware of the condition. Your medical doctor should be consulted before swimming.

Pool Admission Policies All children and youth members receive TWO free registered dry land programs per session, as well as one continuous swim lesson.

Child Care Services

Membership CardsAll YMCA members/participants are required to carry their membership cards with them in the facility. This helps us in case of emergencies. Using your card to access change rooms helps maintain building security and ensures the safety of members, participants and their possessions. All members/participants are required to swipe their cards at the Membership desk when accessing the facility.

Membership Hold PolicyMemberships can be placed on hold at any time for a maximum of three months per calendar year. If you wish to place your membership on hold, we require 10 days written notice prior to your next payment.

Change Room Access PoliciesThe Universal change room is designed to accommodate all genders and can be used by parents with children, or individuals who require assistance due to special circumstances. A parent/guardian must accompany their child at all times. Common areas of the universal change room are clothing-mandatory, and bathing suits have to be worn during showers. Private change stalls are available.

The Male and Female change rooms accommodate all ages. Children under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by a parent. Parents with opposite gender children are required to use the Universal change room.The Membership Plus change rooms are only to be used by individuals who are 18+ years and possess a Plus membership.

Child Age & Access PoliciesChildren under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (who is 16 years or older) in the building at all times. Those who are participating in a supervised program must be signed in, and parent/guardian can leave the building as long as emergency contact information is on file, and they return at the end of the program to sign the child out.

Youth must be 15 years and older to fully access the Conditioning Centre. Children must be 12 years of age to attend Adult Group Fitness classes (with parent/guardian).

Child Protection PolicyAll Members, Guests and Visitors are asked to sign in at the Membership Services desk with Photo ID when entering the facility.
