DX80 Wireless Network System DX80 Overview
The DX80 is a radio frequency (RF) network system. This wireless network is built around an extremely robust architecture designed to rapidly deliver essential information. The basic network is built with a Gateway and a Node. These devices are able to transmit the status of each I/O point as well as the health of each device.Every Gateway and Node is shipped with a predefined number and type of inputs and outputs. The DX80 system can run off of line (DC) power or Flex (battery) power. It will transmit the output of numerous devices.

DX80 Wireless Network System DX80 Technology
The DX80 uses a Frequency Hop Spread Spectrum (FHSS) transmission method operating in the 900 MHz ISM band.Within the FHSS operates a Time Domain Multiple Access (TDMA) control system. TDMA allows the network to reliably communicate and acknowledge every transmission between devices.

DX80 Wireless Network System
The Banner wireless system operates in a Star Topology, using RS-485 “Modbus RTU” communication. Messages between devices can be reported either when I/O changes state or “cyclically” (at regular time intervals). A “polling” interval is also enabled to monitor the health of the network.

DX80 Wireless Network System DX80 Features: Radio Design
The DX80 RF system was designed by Sensonix for effective power management and flexible I/O. Each device contains a bidirectional transceiver for fully acknowledged data transmission.Every device has a built-in LCD for local I/O status, device identification and link status. Each Gateway includes site survey capability that allows the user to check RF link quality with any Node in the network.

DX80 Wireless Network System DX80 Features: Flex™ Power Option
The DX80 features a Flex Power option that allows true wireless operation. A unique battery and power management system can power a Node and sensor for as long as 5 years. The Flex Power Node can supply power to many different devices and can receive its power from the battery, 10-30V dc or even a solar panel.

DX80 Wireless Network System DX80 Features: I/O Connectivity
The DX80 Gateway and Node wiring chambers are designed for flexibility and durability. The base comes equipped with a 5-pin Euro quick disconnect for power and communication. Four PG-7 cable glands are also provided for access to wiring terminals. The remaining port is ½” NPT threaded, which can accommodate larger diameter glands and cables from a junction box or PLC.

DX80 Features: A Deterministic System
The network features a robust architecture that identifies the loss of the RF link and drives user-defined outputs to a safe condition. If the RF link is re-established the network automatically returns to normal operation.
