 WHAT KINDS OF WOMEN ARE

SUITABLE FOR CHRISTIAN MEN?“H er dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night. ” (Proverbs 31:18, NLT)

The mother of King Lemuel was a wise

woman. She wanted to spare her son the fate of

his father, that‟s why she explained to him

everything about women. God arranged it so

that her words were recorded in the Bible, and

for sure they are as beneficial for young men of

today as they were back then.

Typical women

First she describes how most married wom-

en behaved themselves in that time. Men wore

clothes made from wool and linen back then,

and a good woman should have kept her hus-

band‟s dresses handy. But the woman that

Lemuel‟s mother described “has sought wool

and linen” (Proverbs 31:13). She was unable

to set her house in order. Whenever her hus-

band needed a certain garment (of wool or

linen), she had to find it first. That took time of

course.

Tobin Fricke, CC-BY-SA 2.0

Many women were unable to keep order and

had to search for their husbands‟ clothes

Niv Singer, CC-BY-SA 2

There is snow on Mount Hermon and sometimes

in Jerusalem, but never in the Israeli lowlands

Granted, “she does not fear for he

household because of the snow.” (Proverb

31:21). But that is not because she would tak

good care of her family‟s clothes. The newspa

per  Berliner Zeitung  revealed the real reason

in its February 12, 2005 issue, saying: “Snow i

rather rare in Israel. Apart from Mount Her

mon in the north, it does barely happen tha

flakes fall.”

If at all, snow falls in Jerusalem, and even

that does happen only every few years. Th

newspaper mentioned also that people in th

lower regions of Israel “know only sun or rain.

Hence most women in Israel did “not fear fo

her household because of the snow” simpl

because there was no snow in their area.

Lemuel‟s mother continued: “She has

proved to be like the ships of a merchant.”

(Proverbs 31:14). Merchants make a living by

buying something cheap and selling it expen-

sive. Especially back then, it was important for

merchants to cheat their customers as well as

their suppliers. Merchants invented appalling

stories of care-dependent grandmothers and

sick children in order to rip off their customers.

Most women in Lemuel‟s time acted similarly.

Like Delilah, they cried their husbands a river

in order to get what they wanted.  –  Judges

14:16, 17.

Domestic Duties

A diligent woman would get up early, grow

some food in her own garden and purchase

other at the nearby market. But Lemuel‟s

mother said about the average woman of her

time: “From far away she brings in her

food.” (Proverbs 31:14) She gets up late, and

then she spends all day chitchatting with the

neighbors, until she notices in the evening that

there is nothing to eat in her house. Since the

nearby shops and markets are already closed,

she has to go “far away” to a larger market

where she still can get something.

Lemuel‟s mother knew from her own experience

that women often boss her family around

Like Delilah, many women cry their husband

a river until they get everything they want

What does she do with her own garden i

not growing food? As Lemuel‟s mother re

vealed, “she has planted a vineyard.

(Proverbs 31:16) Obviously she was addicte

to alcohol, which is a gift from God. (Psalm104:15) Like certain women which the apostl

Paul had to counsel later, she was “enslaved t

a lot of wine.” – Titus 2:3.

But the average woman in Israel had an

other quirk with which she made her family‟

life miserable. Lemuel‟s mother said: “Sh

keeps an eye on everyone in her household

and keeps them all busy.” (Proverbs 31:27

MSG) She bossed her family members abou

and made everything take place according ther own conception. She and her fellow women

were “meddlers in other people‟s affairs, talk

ing of things they ought not,” as Paul wrot

later. (1 Timothy 5:13) No wonder that wis

Solomon wrote: “Better is it to dwell upon

corner of a roof than with a … wife. … Better i

it to dwell in a wilderness land than with a …

wife.” – Proverbs 21:9, 19.

The Alternative

Lemuel‟s mother recapitulated: “A capabl

wife who can find? ” (Proverbs 31:10) Sh

knew that her son couldn‟t possibly find an

acceptable wife. But what should he do then

Did she advise him “not to touch a woman,” a

Paul did later? (1 Corinthians 7:1) No, sh

pointed out another option.

Regarding the woman who was good com-

pany for a man, she said: “Her dealings are

profitable;  her [red] lamp burns late into

the night.” (Proverbs 31:18, NLT) And “cov-

erlets she has made for herself,” as did the

prostitute described by Solomon at Proverbs

7:16. – Proverbs 31:22.

Lemuel‟s mother continued: “She has

made even undergarments and proceeded

to sell them.” (Proverbs 31:24) In the past,

when she had worked at the market, she wore

underwear. But in her new job, she doesn‟t

need it anymore, that‟s why she sold every-

thing. Now, at least at work, “strength and

splendor are her [only] clothing.” – Prov-

erbs 31:25 .

Such a woman is “quick to assist anyonein need” (Proverbs 31:20, MSG). That‟s why

her business works well, “and there is no

gain lacking.” (Proverbs 31:11) Such a

woman is acceptable to God  –   “was not also

Rahab the harlot declared righteous by works?”

 – James 2:25.

Lemuel‟s mother said about such a prosti

tute: “Give her the reward she has earned

she should be praised in public!” (Proverb

31:31, NCV) Christian men do well do imitat

the example given by Lemuel and other faith

ful men, such as Judah and Samson. – Genesi

38:15, 16; Judges 16:1.

HOW ALCOHOL HELPED ME TO FACE HARD TIMES (4)

As told by Jeshua ben Joseph

Continued from The Witchtower, February 2010

When the next day we were sober again, we

moved on to the next village and preached

along the way. However, scarcely anybody

wanted to listen to us. On that day the persons

that were on the housetop did not come down

to listen to us. The persons out in the field too

wanted to continue working alone.

So we arrived quite soon in the neighboring

village. There we were already expected by a

widow whom I owed some money from my last

visit. She chased us and kept yelling: “See that

you finally repay my money!” Well, for a while

I was unwilling, but afterward I said to myself,

“ Although I do not fear this senile widow or

respect the old, at any rate, because of thi

widow‟s continually making me trouble, I wil

see that she gets her money back, so that sh

will not keep coming and put my reputation a

risk.”

Nevertheless, the people in that villag

didn‟t much like me. They thought I would be

fanatic like the Pharisees whom they dislikedBecause of that, I went to the marketplac

around noon and prayed: “O God, I thank you

am not as the Pharisees, Sadducees, or even a

the chief priests. I don‟t fast twice a week,

don‟t give the tenth of every vegetable. O God

be gracious to the Pharisees and Sadducees

sinners!”

That earned me some sympathy among the

population. Now some people turned to us for

advice. Among them was a mother who was

very worried and said: “Teacher, for some time

my little sun refuses to eat up his porridge.

Yesterday he even came home after sunset and

doesn‟t tell me where he has been. I am in

great distress about him! The little boy is only

forty years old!” Moved with pity for her son, I

replied immediately: “Did you not read that he

who created men from the beginning made

them male and female and said, „For this rea-

son a man will leave his father and his mother

and will look for a wife,‟ so that he will no long-

er live with his mother but with his wife?”

The woman though kept a stiff upper lip

and said: “Why, then, did Solomon prescribethat young men should not forsake the law of

their mother?” “Solomon, out of regard for your

hardheartedness, made the concession to you

mothers of bossing around your sons,” I an-

swered, “but such has not been the case from

the beginning.” Realizing that I would not

command her son to obey her, she was moved

to say: “If such is the situation of a woman with

her son, it is not advisable to have children”

and turned away.

A mother was in great distress because her only

forty-year-old son refused to eat up his porridge

We went working in the vineyard

Shortly thereafter, a young man passed b

and asked me: “Good Teacher, what must I dto inherit much property from my parents?”

replied: “Why do you call me good? I am no

only a good teacher, I am the best one! If

though, you want to get a good inheritance

observe your parents‟ commandments continu

ally.” The man answered: “ All these things

have kept from my youth on. What yet am

lacking?” Listening to the man‟s intense, ear

nest request, I felt that he already had enoug

material possession and so pointed out: “On

thing is missing about you: Go, sell what thing

you have and give the money to me, and you

will have treasure in heaven, and come be my

follower.” Finally he rose and turned away

leaving me deeply saddened.

He had barely left when a delegation of th

Roman administration arrived. They had hear

that I would divide families and persuade peo

ple to sell their belongings. I defended mysel

and told them: “This is an evil lie of the apos

tate Pharisees and Sadducees, these hypocrites! No one has left house or brothers o

sisters or mother or father or children or field

for my sake or for the sake of  my message

Indeed I had taught that a good worshipper o

God would leave his family when it does no

share his faith, but I never prompted anyone t

do that.

The vine dresser paid us only two small coins

We went on and made similar experiences

in the other villages and cities. But then came

harvest season, and people were busy all day.

Scarcely anybody was willing to listen to us or

give a donation, and we were running out of

money. In the late afternoon, around the elev-

enth hour, the agent of a vine dresser came to

the market place, found us standing, and said

to us: “Why have you been standing here all

day unemployed?”  We said to him: “Because

nobody wants to listen to us.” He said to us:

“ You too go into the vineyard.”

The tax officer Zacchaeus feared that he would

have to give half of his belongings to the poor

Strictly speaking, working in the vineyar

was not the worst idea. At least we could earn

some money. When it became evening, th

master of the vineyard said to his man in

charge: “Call the workers and pay them thei

wages, proceeding from the first to the last.

When the first men came who had worked al

day, they each received a denarius. So, when

we came, we concluded we would receive jus

as much; but we only received pay at the rat

of two small coins, which have very little value

On receiving I began to murmur against th

householder, but he replied: “Fellow, I do you

no wrong. These bore the burden of the da

and the burning heat, that‟s why they agree

with me for a denarius. You only put in on

hour‟s work in the cool evening. Take what i

yours and go.”

The householder was a miser

We were offended and went to the pub. Bu

the other workers were thirsty too, hence th

landlord had only one cup of wine left. He gav

it to me, but John and James, sitting down  on

at my right hand and one at my left, also want

ed to get it. I told them: “You men do not know

what you are asking for. Can you drink the cupthat I am about to drink?” Even before the

could reply, I emptied the cup, and the issu

was sorted out. But I comforted John an

James with the words: “I will by no mean

drink henceforth any of this product of the vin

until that day when I drink it new with you i

a better venue.”

Page 8: witchtower_03_2010

 The Witchtower 03/2010

Some days later we got invited by a tax of-

ficer called Zacchaeus. He was afraid that I

would deplore his fraudulent business practic-

es. In the course of the evening, after several

cups of wine, he asked me: “Lord, what must I

do to get saved? Will I have to give half of my

belongings to the poor, and restore fourfold

whatever I extorted from anyone by false accu-sation?” I soothed him, saying: “Truly I tell you

today: Give each of us 30 pieces of silver, and

you will be with us in Paradise.”

Now at least we had some money, so that

we could travel to the Passover festival in Je-

rusalem at ease. However there had been a

severe storm the night before and the whole

path was full of palm branches broken off the

trees. Hence our journey took a bit longer.

When we finally arrived, the Pharisees andSadducees mocked us: “Look, Jeshua and his

twelve donkeys are here too! Only babes and

sucklings believe in somebody like that!”

I ignored their criticism and went to the

temple to purchase some wine at the bazaar, so

that we could celebrate the Passover worthily.

I purchased 26 liters, and the merchant should

have given me 47 Judean pieces of silver as

change. However he tried to cheat and gave me

The wine dealers in the temple

45 Judean and 2 Galilean pieces, though th

Galilean ones are a bit smaller. That made m

seething with rage. Under the influence of th

wine I had tried at the diverse stalls, I made

whip of ropes and drove all those merchant

out of the temple. I overturned the tables of thwine sellers, poured out their wine onto th

temple floor and shouted at them: “You hav

made the house of God to a cave of robbers!”

That could have become quite expensive fo

me, but luckily, exactly in that moment

thunderstorm approached and it started t

flash and thunder. “ An angel has spoken t

him,” some began to say. The superstitiou

Jews did not dare to arrest me, and I coul

leave the temple unimpeded. We celebrated th

Passover with plenty of wine and woke up onltwo days later.

Besides our camp we found a heap of win

bottles, likely from our celebration which w

could hardly remember. I said to the heap: “B

lifted up and thrown into the sea!” At onc

Peter came running and threw the bottles int

the garbage bin.

The priests in the temple had calmed down

too and wanted to arrange an appointment to

meet me. I gave them to understand though:

“Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and

the harlots are going ahead of you, because

they have fixed their appointments already last

week.”

A short time later, still in Jerusalem, I met

a man whom had I borrowed some money the

previous year. He went into hiding then, and

now bumped right into me. At once I requested

him to pay his debts including interest. But he

claimed to be on his way to the tax office, and

said he had exactly enough money to pay his

taxes. I grabbed hold of him and yelled at him:

“Pay back Caesar‟s things to Caesar, but my

things to me!” Frightened he gave me the mon-

ey and ran away.Later the same day, a group of Sadducees

came to me. Since they did not believe in the

resurrection, they tried to set a trap for me.

They asked me regarding a woman that was

successively married to seven men, to which of

the seven she would be wife in the resurrec-

tion. I was on to them and replied: “Is not this

why you are mistaken, your sticking to anti-

quated moral values? For when they rise from

the dead, neither do men marry nor are women

given in marriage, but live unmarried withwhomever they want.”

Though we were thirteen men, the

slave trader gave us only ten virgins

The resurrected ones will not marry

but shack up with whomever they want

A slave trader was so impressed by m

teachings that wanted to make us a present

He came and said: “Teacher, here are ten vir

gins for you and your disciples. Five of them

are foolish, and five are discreet.” But I replied

“To one God gave five talents, to another twoto still another one. But to you it seems that h

gave none at all, at least not for counting. W

are thirteen men, not ten!” He apologized an

promised to bring thirteen virgins the nex

time.

We preached not only in the city but also t

the campers that tented around Jerusalem. On

a field we saw a shepherd separating the sheep

from the goats. We preached to him, and when

we were done, his sheep and goats had completely intermingled, and he had to start al

over.

How finagled Jeshua a delicious dinne

with his disciples? Why was he sentenced t

death, and how did he survive? These question

will be answered in the next issue.

THE BIBLE’S VIEWPOINT

SHOULD CHRISTIANS CONDUCT WAR?“ Return your sword to its place.” (Matthew 26:52)

According to  Awake!   magazine there is “a

group of Christians who would not go to war

under any circumstances” (October 22, 2002,

page 22). The articles relates to Jehovah‟s Wit-

nesses, who are “not taking sides in the contro-

versies and wars of the nations.” (The Watch-

tower, April 1, 1992, page 12) But is this view-

point based on the Scriptures? Does the Bible

really teach that Christians must not conduct

war?

Jehovah‟s Witnesses and other Christian

groups base their view mainly on a prophecy by

Micah that says: “They will not lift up sword,

nation against nation, neither will they learn

war anymore.” (Micah 4:3) The prophet Isaiah

used similar words. (Isaiah 2:4) But are these

statements obligatory for Christians today?

Because the Israelites „did not learn war anymore,‟

they were unable to defend against the Babylonians

Isaiah foresaw this undesirable development

Both prophecies are part of the HebrewScriptures and were directed to the nation o

Israel. Also they do not forbid to “learn war.

Rather Micah and Isaiah foresaw that th

Israelites would become unmindful and self

confident. They thought that no one coul

harm them and neglected their military educa

tion. That their offspring did not “learn wa

anymore” finally led to their defeat by the Bab

ylonians, the Persians, the Greeks and th

Romans. In the end they even lost their home

land.

But even if these verses would constitute

ban of military service, it would not be relevan

for Christians anymore. The law and all rule

from the Hebrew Scriptures were abandone

when Jesus died at the stake. Christians ar

subject to “the law of the Christ.” (Galatian

6:2) What did Jesus say regarding war?

Page 11: witchtower_03_2010

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/witchtower032010 11/16

 The Witchtower 03/2010 1

On one occasion, he instructed Peter: “Re-

turn your sword to its place.” (Matthew 26:52)

Did he want to say that Christians should not

use swords at all? No, there was a specific rea-

son for his instruction, which he explained

himself: “In that case, how would the Scrip-

tures be fulfilled that it must take place this

way?” (Matthew 26:52) Jesus knew that the

Bible says that the Messiah would be killed. He

wanted the prophecy to be fulfilled by his life,

that‟s why he instructed Peter not to fight in

this situation.

In actual fact, Jesus restored God‟s original

purpose according to which his servants should

fight in wars. After all, Abraham already had a

small army and waged wars. (Genesis 14:14-16)

This view is in full harmony with the other

parts of the Scriptures. The apostle Paul urgedChristians to “become imitators of God,” and

“Jehovah is a manly person of war.” (Ephesians

5:1; Exodus 15:3) He also pointed out that many

faithful servants of God “became valiant in war.”

(Hebrews 11:34) Hence it is out of question that

Christians should take the weapon.

Der Wachtturm, July 1915, page 98

Greetings from some of the “more than 200”

brothers “in the field” who were “in military service”

in the German Watchtower issue of July 1915

The Watchtower, April 1, 1915, page 110, Reprints page 566

In World War I, the Bible Students diligently

imitated Jehovah, the “manly person of war”

Note however that he did not advise Pete

to sell his sword or dispose of it. Rather h

should return it “to its place,” that is, kee

carrying his sword with him. Not for nothing

Jesus commanded his disciples (and hence alChristians): “Let the one having no sword sel

his outer garment and buy one.” (Luke 22:36

Christians should rather go without clothe

than without a weapon. After all, Jesus did no

come “to put peace upon the earth; … [he] cam

to put, not peace, but a sword.” (Matthew

10:34) On another occasion, he instructed hi

disciples: “Be struggling.” – Luke 13:24, Foot

note.

The Bible mentions two areas where Christians can utilize their weapons. First, the apos

tle Paul wrote regarding the “authority,” that is

human governments: “It is not without purpos

that it bears the sword” (Romans 13:4) Thu

Christians are obliged to support their govern

ment‟s army to the best of their ability. Ever

government is “God‟s minister,” hence we ca

consider all wars that take place arranged b

God. “Therefore he who opposes the authority”

for example when he is conscripted for militar

service  –   “has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken

stand against it will receive judgment to them

selves.” (Romans 13:2) Christians are bound t

take the weapon and go to war for their gov

ernments when it is necessary.

Page 12: witchtower_03_2010

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/witchtower032010 12/16

 The Witchtower 03/2010 1

There is a second area where Christians

might have to make use of their sword. Regard-

ing apostate Athaliah, the Priest Jehoiada

commanded: “A s for anyone coming after her,

he should be put to death with the sword.”

(2 Chronicles 23:14) With this instruction he

imitated Moses, who ordered the Israelites

with regard to apostates: “Put each one of you

his sword on his side. Pass through and return

from gate to gate in the camp and kill each one

his brother and each one his fellow and each

one his intimate acquaintance.” (Exodus 32:27)

In the past, God‟s servants used their swords to

dispose of apostates.

Unfortunately, we are subject to re-

strictions at the moment. Even decades ago,

Jehovah‟s Witnesses complained: “Being lim-

ited by the laws of the worldly nation in whichwe live … we can take action against apostates

only to a certain extent … The law of the land

… forbid[s] us to kill apostates, even though

they be members of our own flesh-and-blood

family relationship.” –   The Watchtower, No-

vember 15, 1952, page 703.

Christians should always be ready to take the sword

If we don‟t have a sword handy, we can improvise

The legal situation in some countries migh

change every moment. Suddenly a new gov

ernment could come into power and permi

the killing of apostates again. As true Chris

tians we should be prepared then. Regula

training with the sword or another weapon i

vital for a servant of God, so that he “may b

fully competent, completely equipped for ever

good work,” including the elimination of apos

tates. – 2 Timothy 3:17.

May we never listen to hypocritical pseudo

Christians who claim that God‟s servant

should not go to war. The Bible clearly show

that the opposite is true. War is something hol

to Jehovah. (Joel 3:9) He sets a good example

and Jesus too will take the sword one day

(Zechariah 14:3; Revelation 2:16) The Bibl

Students associated with Charles Taze Russe

accepted the Scriptural principles and fough

eagerly for their fatherland. (see for exampl

the German Watchtower issue of April 1915

page 64) May we imitate their fine example b

being always ready to take the weapon, be it t

defend our fatherland or to dispose of apos

tates!

FOOD POISONING – GOD OVERLOOKS BEST-BEFORE DATE!

Is the spiritual food harmless to health?

Brooklyn  –  A spiritual rotten meat scandal of unprecedented proportions is shocking God’s organiza

tion. To maintain physical health, we need food that is wholesome. “Likewise, we need wholesome spirit u

al food to maintain our spiritual health.”  ( Mankind’s Search for God , page 28) To people who want t

maintain spiritual health, Jehovah’s Witnesses say: “We have what they need: the nourishing spiritua

food.”   –  Come Be My Follower , page 159.

But does these claim bear critical examina-

tion? Or has the best-before date of the spiritual

food already expired? May we pay attention to

what the book  The Harp of God  said even in

1922: “Jesus said with reference to his second

presence: „For wheresoever the carcass is, therewill the eagles be gathered together‟. (Matthew

24:28) And so it is. The carcass here refers to

the spiritual food provided for the household of

 faith.”   – page 240.

Pastor Russell had a similar opinion. He men-

tioned Jesus’ words “Wheresoever the body [the

carcass, the food] is, thither will   the eagles be

gathered together” and explained that “the Lord

… will attract them [his „elect‟] as eagles are

attracted, by food, for which they have a keen-ness of vision and appetite.” Regarding his doc-

trines published in the Watchtower and the Bible

Students he added: “The food of „present truth‟

now provided by our Lord, and the gathering of

his saints by and to it, fits the description of this

prophecy exactly.” –  Millennial Dawn, volume

IV, The Day of Vengeance, page 610.

So Russell and Rutherford, the first two pres-

idents of the Watchtower Society, clearly pointed

out that their writings were spiritual rotten car-cass. According to the German edition of  Ency-

clopaedia Wikipedia, carcass is “the rotting

corpses of animals. … Due to the decay of the

corpse, cadaveric poisons and strong odor of

decomposition evolve. … In addition, due to

bacterial toxins, the carcass becomes more and

more poisonous over time.”

Unlike so many others, this doctrine has no

been replaced by “brighter light” yet. Rather i

was reaffirmed more than 50 years later in th

Watchtower : “The „chosen ones,‟ Jesus said

would not be deceived and disappointed by fals

Christs. They are symbolically like „ eagles‟  in having sharp spiritual insight. As an eagl

knows where the carcass on which he is to fee

is to be found, so the farsighted  „  chosen ones

would gather together to the looked-for Messi

ah, Jesus, to feed on the spiritual food  .”  (De

cember 15, 1974, page 750) In chapter 11 of th

book  The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived , Mat

thew 24:28 is applied to the “true spiritual food

too.

Hence there can be no doubt that the anointeJehovah’s Witnesses –  the alleged “chosen ones

 –  are spiritual scavengers and distribute seed

food to their followers. This was confirmed b

Joseph F. Rutherford who wrote: “The begi  n

ning of the „pouring out of the third bowl‟ date

 from July 25, 1824  ... These „water fountains

are effusions, talk, palaver ... sent forth ... b

those who claim that they have power to mak

the earth a fit place in which to live ... As to th

effect upon these „rivers and fountains of w a

ters‟, „they became blood,‟ that is to say, a

dead rot.”   – volume II, page 25.

The Harp of God , page 240

Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that they would

cultivate “an earthly paradise”  after Armaged-

don, so that the earth would become “a fit place

in which to live forever.”  ( Awake!, April 2007,

page 10; Good News to Make You Happy, page

94) Indeed do their “effusions” fill whole librar-

ies, and their “palaver” is bothering homeowners

all over the world. As foretold, all their publica-tions are “dead rot” or “carcass.” Like literal

carrion, their writings become “more and more

poisonous over time,” so that not even their followers dare to read in their older books. Actu-

ally these contain many claims which seem ri-

diculous and absurd now, but were beyond any

doubt based on the Scriptures back then. Never-

theless, “meat” that is decades old and long rot-

ten is simply repackaged (that is, equipped with a

new cover page) and printed with a new date.

No wonder that whoever eats from the spir-

itual food for some time becomes spiritually ill.

Which normal human has “appetite” for carcass,as Russell wrote? Many affected people isolate

themselves more and more and are hardly re-

sponsive to the outside world. Hence may we

beware of the rotten spiritual meat that Jehovah’sWitnesses distribute all over the world!

Beware of rotten spiritual meat!

The “spiritual food” distributed

by Jehovah‟s Witnesses is

something for scavengers

Not only spiritual carrion

The “eagles”, the anointed Jehovah’s Wit-

nesses, eat not only spiritual carrion. Jehovah

himself said about the eagle: “Where the slain

are, there it is.”  (Job 30:30) Accordingly Judge

Rutherford said: “ The remnant on the earth are

„the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven‟ …

The gathering is to „the supper of the great

God‟. … These birds are invited to feed upon

 the fallen hosts of  the enemy‟s organization;

therefore they must represent the Lord‟s re m-

nant on the earth. … The faithful are likened

unto eagles. … Eagles  feed upon the flesh of

dead animals. „  For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered.‟ (Matt. 24:28)

… All these Scriptural illustrations fit the faith-

ful servant class on earth. …  Jehovah, by his

mighty Field Marshal, does the fighting and

fills the earth with dead bodies. … I  t will be a

feast to those who are on the Lord‟s side.”   –   Light , volume II, pages 172, 173.

Another Watchtower book confirms this

view. It explains that the “birds” from Revelation

8:17 are the “eagles” fr om Matthew 24:28 and

adds: “These passages will have a literal and

terrible fulfilment in a deluge of actual blood-shed.”   Regarding the “kings” or human rulers,

the book says: “They are there to be eaten.”   –  The Finished Mystery, 1918 edition, page 296.

Hence the anointed Jehovah’s Witnesses looforward to the day where God will slaughter al

humans except Jehovah’s Witnesses. Thei

carcasses will lie about everywhere and “be feast to those who are on the Lord’s side.Which side will we be on?

Like at this Bethel

Christmas celebration

in 1926, the anointedlook forward to a great

“feast” at the slaughter

of the worldlings

“Be on the watch for the false prophets !” – Matthew 7:15

God killed not only millions of humans and animals in the flood. (Genesis 8:21) He also in-

structed his people to eradicate the Amalekites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Midianites

and other nations. (Psalm 83:6-9) For good measure, he arranged it so that his own son was

gruesomely put to death; “it's what God had in mind all along, to crush him with pain.” – Mat-

thew 27:46-50; Isaiah 32:10, MSG .

Some consider these events that happened nearly 2000 years ago a scandalous deed by a sup-

posedly loving God. Others believe that they have been redeemed by Jesus’ death and can gain

everlasting life. Still others deny that these things took place at all.

But regardless of how we think about the story, the question arises: Should we visit the Me-

morial celebration held by Jehovah’s Witnesses? Likely you will soon find a red invitation slip in

your mailbox too. This year, the event takes place on March 30th

.

May you not be deceived by  the name “Memorial” or “Evening Meal!” Contrary to Evening

Meal celebrations in the first century, with some attendees even “intoxicated,” there is nothing

to eat or to drink! (1 Corinthians 11:21) Strictly speaking, there is wine and dry bread – but only

for a few “anointed,” not for the majority of Jehovah’s Witnesses and much less for outside visi-

tors.

Rather, every visitor is forced to

hear a boring speech about how grate-

ful we must be to God for the murder

of his son. Afterwards they hand breadand wine around, but no one is allowed

to take of it. Finally they point out that

you have to attend all meetings in the

kingdom hall and go with Jehovah’s

Witnesses from house to house if you

don’t want to be annihilated soon in

Armageddon.

Hence you should plan something

else for March 30th. If you want to havea delicious evening meal, reserve a

table at a decent restaurant. But steer

clear of the kingdom hall of Jehovah’s

Witnesses!

If someone thinks that there would be some-

thing to eat at the “Evening Meal celebration”

of Jehovah‟s Witnesses, he will be disappointed
