Scrapping: To render material unusable

Areas involved: Warehouse, Customer Service(Returns Area), Accounting, Quality

Control, and Production

General process:

• Starts: when a decision is made to scrap material

• Ends: when the material is destroyed and the transactions related to

valuation, accounting, and inventory have been performed

Reasons for Scrapping

Expired or near expiration date.

Damaged or Discontinued (no longer has any use)

Recalls

Rejected by QC at disposition or due to quality investigations

Customer Returns

and change thecategory to B(Devaluation)
