2.5 RU40 RAN2262 feature act ivation when using FSMF
While testing FSMF, following feature needs to be activated: RAN2262: LimitedTFCS of the multi PS bearer connection for WCDMA BTS and UE capability
This change is controlled with two bits of the PRFILE parameter 002:1914RN60_MAINT_39 as follows:
- If the first bit of the parameter is set to 1, then UL TFCS is limited if there aremore than 1 UL PS NRT DCH established for the connection; this alternativeoptimizes the BTS base band resources consumption.- If the fifth bit of the parameter is set to 1, then UL TFCS is limited if there aremore than 2 UL PS DCHs established for the connection;
It is recommended to use value 1H for this parameter and to have same value in allRNCs.
Activation status of this change can be checked with the following MML command:ZWOI:2,1914;
Activation of the change:To enable the modification with the 1st bit of the PRFILE parameter 002:1914, the
parameter shall be configured to value 1H by MML:ZWOC:2,1914,1;

Addi tional securi ty enhancement
Feature (RAN2423, SW verification Agent) enhances the security of the softwaredownloaded and activated. Secure boot enforces the verification and execution of trustedsoftware. The software that verifies the integrity of the executable software is calledSoftware Verification Agent.
Before the software update, the software-update packages are downloaded using securefile transfer method and stored securely in the network element. The network elementcalculates hash value of the software, signs the hash, and stores it together with thesoftware package.
With the hard security enabled, the BTS executes only verified software. The hash value ofthe software package is calculated again and compared with the stored and signed hashvalue. If the hash values match, the software is executed. If the verification of softwarepackage fails in SW activation phase, activation is stopped and alarm is raised. If theverification of software package fails in BTS startup, SW fallback is executed and BTSverifies the fallback software package.
WN8.0 2.0 upgrade to unit with pre-installed WCDMA SW WN7.0_1302_375_00 orabove:
WN7.0_1302_375_00 has hard security enabled. Upgrade is done directly to the WCDMASW:
1. Download and activate package WN8.0_1308_437_03 (WN8.0 2.0)
Note:
In this case ( When Rel3 BTS SW is upgraded from RU30 EP2 to RU40 level) theparameter numberOfCcchSet (number of CCCH processing sets) needs to becommissioned manually after the SW update unless all the cells can be allocated in freeCCCH capacity.
Free CCCH capacity is described in Dimensioning Guide. Free CCCH capacity is equal tothe capacity of one CCCH processing set - It can hold e.g. 3x20km 2-way Rx cells or6x10km 2-way Rx cells. Dimensioning Guide describes also how to calculate number of
CCCH processing sets that BTS needs.
WN8.0 2.0 upgrade to unit with pre-installed LTE SW LN4.0_ENB_1202_781_57 (A.103)or LN4.0_ENB_1202_696_00 (A.102) :
Upgrade is done directly to the WCDMA SW:
1. Download and activate package WN8.0_1308_437_03 (WN8.0 2.0)

1. There has been occasional observation of Fault 1802 with 3*FSP and FRGQConfiguration and LN4.0_ENB_1202_781_57 factory SW. But this does not impact
WCDMA SW and is cleared with the WCDMA package.
SW upgrade steps:
Note.If the BTS site has connection to the NetAct, the NetAct will manage the SW (that is, checks the SWversion and, if it is different than the SW in the NetAct database, downloads new SW).
After clicking the Update SW button, the Update SW to BTS Site dialog box will beopened. If LTE Site Manager is in use, choose the Software → Update SW to BTS Site
menu item to open the Update SW to BTS Site dialog box.
1. Click the Select File button to locate the master file containing the new software.
• The Select Build Descriptor dialog box opens.
• Locate and select the master file (TargetBD.xml or SW package zip file), and click the Openbutton. If you select the zip file, the files will be decompressed when you click Open.
• The Select Build Descriptor dialog box closes and the new SW version is displayed in theUpdate SW to BTS Site dialog box.
2. Select the Activate SW After Update check box to enable the activation of the new software inaccordance with SW updating.
Note.If you do not want to activate the new software at the same time with updating it, you can leave theoption unchecked, and the SW is downloaded to the BTS site in the background only. To activatethe SW later with Activate SW After Update selected, you have to perform the SW update again.
3. Click the Update button.
• The Update Progress steps show the transfer status of files. DL time depends on DCN andamount of downloaded data.
• Wait for the SW update complete notification. If the Activate SW After Update check boxwas selected, the SW will be activated and the site will be reset.
Note.If the SW download fails, update the software again
1. If you want to view information on the SW download, click the View Report button.
• The Software Update Report dialog box opens.
1. Click the Close button to close the dialog box.

6. WCDMA BTS LICENCE FREE PERIOD
When a new BTS site is taken into use, the BTS can be commissioned at the site directlyto its definitive operating configuration and features, and download the required licencesremotely later on.
Licence management late activation enables the use of all licenced features withoutlicence restrictions for 14 days, starting from SW upgrade and establishing connection tothe NTP server.
If the 14 days trial period has been exceeded, still the O&M remote connection to a BTScan be maintained and LKs can be imported to BTS via NetAct Licence management orvia BTS Site Manager.
7. CONNECTING TO A BTS AND AUTHENTICATION MANAGEMENT
Authentication is always enabled either with a default username/password (Nemuadmin /nemuuser) or user defined username/password. Therefore correct username andpassword must be used to log on to the BTS.
7.1 Flexi BTS
Flexi BTS is managed using BTS Site Manager which manages both BTS and TRS.

About this document
1 About this documentThis document provides information on:
• The compatibility between the WCDMA Base Station software (BTS SW) releaseand unit hardware (HW)
• The compatible ATM Cross Connect (AXC) software releases and unit hardware
• The compatibility between the BTS HW
• The compatibility between the WCDMA BTS SW WN8.0 release and other SW
releases
This document does not describe the changes in different HW or SW releases.
WN6.0 internal compatibility
• WN6.0 include HW units:
• WSMF (AXCF required)
• WSPF
• FTFB
• FDWA (can be used with Flexi and UltraSite)
• FAWA (can be used with Flexi and UltraSite)
• WN6.0 does not support ADA yet.
• WN6.0 SW can be downloaded on WN4.0 and later WCDMA BTS SW releases.
• Software support for FRGF, FRGG, FRGN, FSMC, FSMD, FTIB, FTHA and TOPA
starts from WN5.0 release.
• Note that it is not allowed to downgrade SW to WN4.0 level in those sites where
these modules exist.
WN7.0 internal compatibility
WBTS7.0 software delivery includes WN7.0 software which is Flexi specific and WN6.0
software which is UltraSite/MetroSite specific. After the software upgrade to WN7.0
UltraSite/MetroSite base stations are still operating on WN6.0 software.
Flexi Rel1 SW is frozen under WN7.0 2.0, so it must be updated before further SW
updates are possible.
WN8.0 internal compatibility
WBTS8.0 software deliveries include WN8.0 software, which is Flexi rel. 2-specific,
WN7.0 2.0 software, which is Flexi rel. 1-specific, and WN6.0 software, which is Ultra-
Site/MetroSite-specific.
After the software upgrade to WN8.0 Flexi rel. 1, base stations are still operating on
WN7.0 2.0 software.

2) WICA 203, 205, 206, 207, 308 for 2100 MHz and 1900 MHz.
3) Supported from version A.305.
4) Supported from version A.202.
7) Supported with WINB and WREB version A.201.
8) WTRA operates with both WSMA and WSMB.
9) WSMA and WSMB cannot be configured in the same cabinet. All WSM units in the same
cabinet must be of the same type, that is, either WSMA or WSMB. If WTRA and WTRB units are
mixed in the same cabinet, all WSM units must be WSMBs.
10) WTRB and WTRD always require WSMB, also in mixed configurations (that is, WTRB and/or
WTRD is in the same cabinet with WTRA).
11) WPAK always requires the WSMB unit.
12) WPAI/WPAJ together with the WOC unit always requires the WSMB unit.
13) WSPA and WSPC units are supported by both WSMA and WSMB units (WSPC cards can
be added to any Rel.1, Rel.2, or mixed Node B configuration).
14) WOC cannot be used with WPAC/WPAD/WPAK.
15) WSMA always requires WTRA.
16) If a combination of WTRA/WSMA and WPAI/J/K is used, the WOC unit cannot be used.
17) WSMF and WSPF will require WN6.0 SW. EUBB upgrade is not possible with MetroSite
WCDMA BTS, MetroSite 50 BTS and UltraSite WCDMA BTS triple mode cabinets. Also Roll-out
Optimized Configurations (ROC) cannot be upgraded with EUBB.
18) FrontBar can be used with WSMF and WSPF. In product tree it is connected to WSMF!
19) WSMF version 101 and 102 may damage WREB cabinet backplane if installed to wrong slot.
