Upon venturing into the premi-um car care market 25 years ago,I suddenly realized my life-llongpassion. I was fascinated bywaxes, paint sealants, leather con-ditioners; what goes into them,how and why they work, whichcombinations yield the best out-comes. In 1997, I created andlaunched the award-wwinningDetailer'ss Pride professional detail-ing products. A few years later, Ibecame co-oowner of PinnacleNatural Brilliance, a complete lineof car care products for the dis-criminating auto fanatic builtaround a pure carnauba wax.

Since then I set out to designanother innovative series of prod-ucts that would complementmodernizations in car paint andfinishes, utilize advancements inresearch and development in thecar care industry, and fulfill theever-cchanging desires of the con-sumer. Lee, my senior chemist,the staff at the ManufacturingDivision of Palm Beach MotoringAccessories, and I set up stringentguidelines for the development ofa new line that we would eventu-ally introduce to the car-llovingpublic. Here, in Germanlaboratories, he would find themissing link.

The most thorough car shampoo cannot rinse away every last bit ofembedded residue and overspray that contaminates, and eventuallyeats away, at your car's paint. To get that show quality, silky-ssmooth fin-ish, twice a year you will need to follow the wash with a clay bar treat-ment. Stating it simply, a complete regi-men for protecting a car's painthas three main components:washing, decontaminating, andprotecting. Washing removes themajority of dust, dirt, and othervisible grime. No automatic orhand car wash, regardless howthorough, can remove bondedor embedded contaminantswhich ultimately eat away at thepaint or clear coat. Likewise, nowax or paint sealant can preventpaint contamination. These air-borne pollutants come from avariety of sources--bbrake dust, raildust, overspray, sap, and tar--aandmust to be exfoliated from thepaint before applying any kind ofprotectant. The only effective,non-aabrasive method of paintdecontamination is claying andpolishing. Claying, done aboutevery six months, attracts foreignmatter from beneath the surfaceand pulls them away safely for adeep-ddown clean. Clay evenremoves particles invisible to thenaked eye for a glass-ssmooth fin-ish. Polishing works in accor-dance by rejuvenating the toplayer, smoothing tiny scratches

and swirl marks with fillers, andrestoring the paint's deep vibrantcolors. Skipping this step beforeprotecting the paint locks in paint-fouling dirt, causing more dam-age down the road.

There are only two means ofpaint protection: waxing and seal-ing. Traditionally, the muchsought-aafter, liquid-llike, deepshine is attained through a purecarnauba paste wax.
