This specialty also includes the evaluation of women with reproductive tract issues and the evaluation of women with suspected or proven bone loss. By utilizing powerful imaging modalities including digital mammography, MRI, ultrasound, and DEXA, our women’s imaging radiologists are able to assist primary care providers and specialists in the detection, diagnosis, and management of these conditions. From routine screenings to complex diagnostic indications, requiring the expertise of multiple specialists, health care providers depend on the women’s imaging radiologists’ training, expertise and experience in the diagnosis and management of diseases and disorders. Dedicated Team of Experienced Professionals

Radiology Alliance has recruited and built a team of women’s imaging radiologists that is unmatched in the region. All of our women’s imaging radiologists are board-certified and have received extensive training in the complex subspecialty of women’s imaging. Our subspecialty-trained women’s imaging radiologists give patients the benefit of more than a hundred years of combined experience.

Our goal is to provide superior patient care through diagnosis and consultation on imaging and treatment options. To achieve this goal, we have organized our women’s imaging subspecialty team to maximize the benefit of our services to our patients and referring physicians.

With expertise in all imaging modalities, our team of women’s imaging radiologists is available for consultations on selection of exams, confirmation of a diagnosis, and treatment planning and evaluation.

RADIOLOGY ALLIANCE WOMEN’S IMAGING SPECIALISTS

Alan J. Kaufman, M.D., M.S.Dr. Kaufman earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the City University of New York and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering/Neurophysiology at the University of Connecticut. After earning his medical degree from the University of Liege in Liege, Belgium, he completed a flexible internship at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Then, he completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital, in Morristown, New Jersey, where he was the Chief Resident from 1982-1983. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Kaufman completed fellowship training in body imaging: ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Kaufman served as an Associate Professor of Radiology at Vanderbilt and was the Medical Director of The Vanderbilt Breast Center. A member of the American College of Radiology, he has authored/coauthored numerous medical publications.

Julie Cox Kennon, M.D. Dr. Kennon joined Radiology Alliance in 1998, following completion of a fellowship in women’s imaging at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She earned her medical degree and completed her diagnostic radiology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident from 1996–1997. In addition to her work as a radiologist, she currently serves in the Tennessee Air National Guard as a part-time C-130 pilot. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Kennon’s area of professional interest and expertise is women’s imaging.

John D. King, M.D. Prior to joining Radiology Alliance in 1999, Dr. King was an Assistant Professor of Radiology and the Radiology Residency Program Director at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Memphis. During that time, he was actively involved with several multi-institutional breast cancer research projects. He also served on the medical staffs of the University of Tennessee Hospital, the VA Medical Center and the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1988 and completed his diagnostic radiology residency there in 1992. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. King’s specialty areas of interest include breast imaging, interventional mammography and breast MRI.

Beata Panzegrau, M.D. Beata Panzegrau, M.D. earned her medical degree from the Collegium Medicum Jagiellonski University in Krakow, Poland and completed an internship at the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina. She performed a diagnostic radiology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, where she also completed fellowships in breast imaging and nuclear medicine. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, she is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Radiology, Society of Nuclear Medicine and American Roentgen Ray Society. Prior to joining Radiology Alliance, Dr. Panzegrau was an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Patricia Tepper, M.D. Dr. Tepper received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and her medical degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School. Following medical school, she completed an internship in internal medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. At the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in body CT and ultrasound. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Tepper’s special areas of expertise include mammography and breast MRI imaging. She is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging. Dr. Tepper serves as the Medical Director of the Women’s Health & Imaging Center at TriStar Centennial.

Margaret B. Wright, M.D. Dr. Wright graduated from the University of California, Davis, and then received a Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She attended medical school and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Vanderbilt University. After three years at Vanderbilt as an instructor and then Assistant Professor in Women’s and Abdominal Imaging, she joined Radiology Alliance in September 2000. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, her area of professional interest and expertise is breast imaging, including mammography, ultrasound, minimally invasive breast procedures, and breast MRI. Currently, Dr. Wright serves as the Medical Director of Specialty MRI and as the Medical Director of Breast Imaging for Tristar’s Nashville Market.
